Just Checking In...

So, how was your Christmas? Our Christmas was wonderful...

We had a white Christmas! It was beautiful! It was the first white Christmas we had seen in 8 years or so and the first time Oklahoma had been under a blizzard warning in years and years...possibly ever for some places. We've enjoyed playing in the white fluffy stuff.

We made snow angels...

lots and lots of snow angels.

We've played in the snow until our fingers are numb and our noses are so cold they're about to fall off.

Then we've come back in, drank some hot cocoa, and went back out for more.

The snow wasn't the only good thing about Christmas. Santa was good to me! (Apparently I wasn't so bad after all ;) I got a new camera! It's a Canon EOS Rebel XS...I love it! I have over 500 pictures from Christmas, but would like to edit some of them before posting them here on my blog. What kind of photo editing software do you use? Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things...and not being very successful at it. My Google Reader is FULL. I've got tons of new toys to find a place for and we're getting ready to have Isaiah's 6th birthday on Friday!
We've also had a loss in our family. My Grandpa Norman (my dad's dad) passed away on the 28th. His funeral is this weekend. He will be greatly missed. I'm just thankful that I listened to the voice inside and took the opportunity to go and visit him a week or so never know when your last visit will be.
I encourage you all to embrace each moment you get with family and give lots of hugs...really mean it...hug 'em tight! I'll try to get around and visit you guys as soon as I can! Love you all♥
I wish for health, happiness, and peace for each and every one of you in 2010.

I hope all of you out there in blog land have the MERRIEST of Christmases!
Remember that Jesus came as a baby in a manger so that we can have eternal life. Let's celebrate the real reason for the season. All the gifts are just fluff. Cherish the time that you have with your families...make memories that will last a lifetime. I wish for peace, health, love, and happiness for each and every one of you in the New Year! Love you all!!

Holly Bloggy Christmas Bash - Christmas Tree Pics

For the Holly Bloggy Christmas Bash we are supposed to link up with pictures of our Christmas Tree(s)! I love Christmas trees. I would have a hundred of them if I could squeeze them into my home. The twinkly lights and glisteny look of ornaments dangling ever so gently on the green's magical. Here's a glimpse of my house and a few of my trees:

One of my fav ornaments...she's just so whimsical, plus she resembles me in the mornings with that crazy hair and I would love to have a flippy red tu-tu and some red, white and green stripped leggings!

I went red and black this year on my main Christmas tree. I really love it!

My lime green tree in the bathroom...looks so cute with my red birds!

Since I went with red and black on the big tree, there were some of my favorite ornaments that didn't have a home, so this little tree holds some of my cherished ornaments and is so so cute. (It's so hard to take a good pic of a Christmas tree with a point and shoot camera.)

I also really love these little red trees lit up in my kitchen.

One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is just sit in the house with just the Christmas lights on. It's the best cozy. Can't wait to see your Christmas tree! Be sure to go link up on A Baby Changes Everything (or click on the Holly Bloggy Christmas Bash button at the top of this post)!

Hope you guys are having a terrific Tuesday!!♥

Holly Bloggy Christmas Bash - Homeade Gifts

Today I'm joining in the Holly Bloggy Christmas Bash! Jen @ Tatertots and Jello is hosting today and the topic is Homemade Gifts. I have a few things that I'm working some little boxes filled with homemade macaroons and peppermint bark for neighbors and friends, and some handmade ornaments made with mod podge and chipboard for teachers and grandparents. Also, over the weekend, we made a large batch of homemade Creamy Hot Chocolate Mix and Peppermint Marshmallows. So YUMMY! The recipes come from a Christmas Gooseberry Patch Cookbook.

Really simple.

Here's the ingredients:
For the hot chocolate: In a large mixing bowl, put 1 pound chocolate drink mix, 1 1/4 cup non-dairy creamer, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 box (26 1/2 oz) powdered instant milk. Stir together. Divide into small jars for gift giving. (Serving directions: add amount desired of hot chocolate mixture to an 8 oz cup of hot water or milk. Stir, serve, and enjoy!)

For the peppermint marshmallows: You put 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 t. peppermint extract into a gallon size Ziploc baggie. Mix the peppermint extract into the powdered sugar by shaking the bag. Put a 10.5 oz bag of mini marshmallows into the baggie and shake until all the marshmallows are coated. Divide up into smaller bags for gift giving.

Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday!!♥

Be sure to hop on over to Tatertots and Jello (click HERE) and join in the holiday fun!

More Edward Sightings

I interrupt your regular broadcasting to bring you breaking news of MORE Edward sightings. That's right, Mr. Cullen himself (pocket size version) has been seen around town getting into the Christmas Spirit.

He's been seen trimming trees and hanging out with other mythical creatures...such as this lovely snowgirl...

Seems as though we were interrupting something here. What would Bella say? A new jingle is coming to mind..."I saw Edward kissing Snowgirl underneath the mistletoe last night..."

Here he is practicing his tree climbing skillz. He feels right at home in this lovely (fake) pine.

Edward believes in Santa. Why would he not? Vampires. Warewolves. Why not Santa? In this picture, he was venturing down into the stockings to see if Santa had made any early trips to leave some goodies. (Sorry, Eddie. All that is in those stockings is lint ball or two. Santa's helper needs to get busy!)

One goodie that Edward did find was not in the stockings, but it the mailbox! He found a SUPER FABULOUS New Moon tag from Jen @ Tatertots and Jello (THANK YOU Jen!!). I'm not sure he's too fond of the whole wolf pack logo, but he posed with it just for me.
He's so sweet like that...and chivalrous, kind, loving, strong...*sigh*...marble-like skin, pale, ice cold, sparkly, strong jawline, straight nose, full lips, bronze hair, topaz eyes, 6'2", slender but muscular a mythical Greek god Adonis.

Oh, sorry. I just get a little side-tracked sometimes.

I still have a few Edward sightings that I'm working on (hot tub, shopping, serving breakfast to my mother, sleeping in my bed, chillin' in the snow, and hanging out with Flat Baloney).

Do you have somewhere you would like to see Pocket Edward? If so, just leave me a comment and let me know!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!

Next week, I'm going to be joining in on
Click on the button and go see what fun they have lined out for next week...topics to link up to each day and prizes to be won! (Jen @ Tatertots and Jello is hosting the first day ~ Homeade Gifts!)

I LOVE THIS...Breast Cancer "dance"

This came in an e-mail to me today:

Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves. I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn't been touched by breast cancer?

Ann Somers

I think it's a good reminder, even though it's not Breast Cancer Awareness month...we still need to check the ta-tas and support Cancer research! Take a break to groove to this video...I totally did.

Isaiah's Vlog...Stardate -313070.31963470333

Isaiah thinks that he looks different in the video than in real life. I told him that the camera adds 10 pounds. So, just keep that in mind for one of these days when I do a vlog...the camera adds 10 pounds.

Words to song in video (in case you need a translation):

You better not pout. You better not cry. You better not pout...(this must be important, it's in here twice) I'm telling you why...Santa Clause is coming to Madagascar! He's making a list and checking it twice...he's gonna find out who's naughty or nice! Santa Clause is coming to Madagascar! He knows if you are sleeping. It's kinda creepy. He knows if you're awake. He's in your bedroom. He knows if you've been bad or good, so be BAD for goodness sake! Oh, you better watch out! You better not cry! You better not pout, I'm telling you why...Santa Clause is coming to Madagascar!

Silly, King Julian! Hope you're familiar with Merry Madagascar. If not, CLICK's quickly becoming one of Isaiah's favorite Christmas movies.

Merry Christmas EVERYONE!!

♥Isaiah and his mommy♥

Pictures from Thanksgiving Weekend

I know that Thanksgiving has already come and gone, and that we're already posting things about Christmas, but I wanted to share some of the pics from our Thanksgiving weekend.

Here's my lil' Indian...This was some of the things Isaiah made at school to celebrate Thanksgiving and Native American Days. He was doing his Indian call here...I should have taken some video to post. Quite entertaining.

Thanksgiving day at my Granny' doing what they do best...sleeping and watching football.
We had lots of YUMMY pies! Isaiah's favorite were the pumpkin!

My cousins Natalie (Nat-Nat) and Noah (No-No)

More of my cousins...we were scouring over the Black Friday ads...making our lists and mapping it out! Do you see the intensity on every face?

The day before Thanksgiving I got off work early and my cousin Allison and I went to see New Moon for the 3rd time! Whut Whut?!

On Saturday, Michael and I went to the Bedlam game in Norman and we had Thanksgiving with his mom and dad while we were there...good times on both accounts. Sooners won and Thanksgiving with the in-laws was good! However, if you talk to Michael, he's probably going to bring up the fact that I LOST our tickets. Yeah, probably the mistake of the year. It'll take a while to live this one down. I was carrying my cute red clutch that Julie got me and I kind of have a nervous habit of snapping it shut and unsnapping it...not thinking about our tickets being tucked inside. So, I think during the time we were waiting in line to get something to drink before going in to the stadium, the tickets slipped out of my clutch. Not good. Last game of the year...our biggest rivals...most costly face value, we already had tickets and now had to buy more! Yeah, as I said...not good. The good news is that we got some more tickets for a fraction of face value price and went in to the stadium to find out seats unoccupied, so it ended well....and my Sooners won!
That was my Thanksgiving weekend. Hope your's was wonderful. Counting down the days 'til Christmas!

Edward Sightings

I interrupt this broadcast to bring you breaking news...

There have been multiple sightings of Edward...well, Pocket Edward that is...around the local area.

Here he is spotted at a local Starbucks. The crowd overheard him saying "You are my life many times do I have to tell you?? Now, please, just drink this Peppermint Mocha before it gets cold!"

On the same day, he was spotted hiding inside a Coach purse protecting the Black Friday ads.

Later in the day, he was cooling off with a nice glass of iced tea and doing a little table dance for the ladies. I know he looks a little stiff, but the boy has moves.
That evening, he was on the dash looking out for hi-pos...allowing us to drive like a Cullen.

I was having so much fun with Pocket Edward. My 17, 15, and 13 year old (girl) cousins were giggling non-stop. My mother was threatening to take me home..."right this instant!"...if I didn't put Pocket Edward away. I don't listen very well.

Is there somewhere you would like to see Pocket Edward? You tell me in my comments where you would like PE's picture taken and I will happily oblige and post them next week! Sound fun? I think so. =)
Hope you all have a FABULOUS Friday!! *loves*

Isaiah Funnies

I've had a few humorous conversations with my 5 year old lately. I wanted to share a few for your enjoyment.

Me: "So, what are you asking Santa for this year?"

Isaiah: "Well, what I really want is a whole box of Transformers."

Me: "but you already have a whole box of Transformers (translation: we don't need anymore Transformers)."

Isaiah: "Wellllll...this will be special because I'm asking Santa for a whole box collection of all the Transformers that I don't already have so that I'll have a whole set of Transformers...they've gotta be in ONE box (I have no idea what the importance of being in ONE box is, but he emphasized it a few times. great.)."

Me: "I'm not sure if there is such a thing. Maybe Santa could just bring you a few of the Transformers that you don't already have and then you can ask for the rest of them on your birthday?"

Isaiah: "Mom, Santa can make anything. He's a toy genius."

Me: (great) "Sometimes Santa can't make ANYTHING...he's a busy guy you know."

Isaiah: "Mom, it's just some little 'ol Transformers...I think Santa and his elves (oh, now he's bringing out the elves. great.) can handle making a collection of all the Transformers that I don't have in ONE box."

Me: "I'll give Santa a call and see what he says."

Isaiah: "YOU know Santa's number?"

Me: "Sure, it's on speed dial."

A few days ago...

Me: "Hey, Buddy...we should get to writing that letter for Santa. We want him to have enough time to make all of the things (a whole collection of Transformers all in ONE box) you want in his workshop!"

Isaiah: (nonchalantly) "sure, mom."

Me: "We wouldn't want Santa to run out of time!"

Isaiah: "Mom, you're the one that said that Santa knows stuff, like when I'm good and bad and stuff like, that must mean that he knows other stuff, like what I want for Christmas. *he thinks for a moment* You know, Mom...Santa's like Jesus."

Great. Now he thinks Santa is like Jesus...I'm not sure that's the direction I was hoping for.

Me: "How was school today, Buddy?"

Isaiah: "Great, but I got in one time out."

*I give him "the" look*

Isaiah: "it was just a *little* time out...see, I was shaking a tree on the playground and I didn't know it was against the rules to shake a tree...DID you know it was against the rules to shake a tree??...because I didn't know it was against the rules to shake a tree!"

Me: *trying to keep my composure and reflect the seriousness of this tree shaking incident* "No, I didn't know it was against the rules to shake a tree...BUT we know now and we should follow all the rules...including no shaking trees."

I love this boy!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!! *loves*

Black Friday Confessions

So, here it is...once again it is BLACK FRIDAY!!! I'm so flippin' excited. I have a few confessions regarding Black Friday. I'm sure a few of you will nod your head in agreement, while others will for sure be thinking I'm crazy. Regardless, here they are:

  • We've mapped out our stores. Seriously. My mom and I literally have a map of where we want to go, when we want to be there (according to what time they open), and how long we can spend there.

  • We have a list of each item we want to buy at each store.

  • I have coupons and I'm not afraid to use them. It just occurred to me that I can use a coupon with a Door Buster Deal...I'm all over that!

  • We will hit Starbucks at least 3 times before the day is over.

  • We have our own shopping basket. It can fold the ones people take to craft fairs. We take it to haul all of our goods around the mall. Wal-Mart and Target have baskets, but not the mall! Have you ever tried to carry 20 bags around a mall for 10 hours? Your hand will go numb and you will start to feel like you might lose a limb. It's brutal.

  • Sometimes we take a shopping break and see a Holiday movie. If my mom and aunt decide to catch a Holiday movie at the theater, I will probably bail and catch one more viewing of New Moon...a date with Edward and Jacob is just simply irresistible.

  • My uncle is our chauffeur. If you haven't tried it, you should. He drives us to the door and we call him when we're ready to leave...and he drives back up to the door to retrieve us and our bags. All he requires is food! It's fantastic!

  • We've been known to call my dad and have him drive to Tulsa to unload our vehicle so that we have room for more purchases.

  • We've also been known to stay out almost a whole 24 hours. Now, that's what you call marathon shopping.

Don't worry. I won't be doing this.

Do you shop on Black Friday? If so, what's your confession?

Thanksgiving Thankfuls!!

Today on this Thanksgiving Day, I am oh so thankful for all the blessings in my life. The most obvious ones are
  • God
  • Jesus, my Savior
  • my amazing close-knit family
  • Michael
  • Isaiah
  • my cousins who have been like sisters and brothers to me through the years
  • my brother Josh and niece Gracie living in Oklahoma
  • the best friends a girl could ask for
  • old friends
  • new friends
  • friends who live in my computer...ALL of you...I'm so thankful for each and every one of you
  • my church family
  • knowing what is important in life
  • a home
  • a job
  • that my Grandpa is here to spend another Thanksgiving
  • my Granny's pies
  • plenty of food
  • resources to help others
  • Christmas is around the corner
  • coffee
  • Black Friday shopping (it's like a holiday all in itself!)
  • New Moon...I'm serious y'all...I love that movie
  • Eclipse will be here in 216 days
  • party planning because it makes me so happy
  • time off to spend with my family
  • the sun
  • the moon
  • the seasons
  • my new cranberries and spice candle that makes my house smell like the holidays

I'm sure I'm missing something. I'm pretty much thankful for everything around's hard to list everything...well, I guess I could just say I'm thankful for EVERYTHING! That's what Isaiah put on our Blessings Tree in our Sunday School room...if a 5 year old can do that, then so can I. I'm thankful for EVERYTHING! How about you? What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Love you guys!

JennyKate's New Moon Review

New Moon has come and gone.

Here I sit all alone.

No New Moon countdown to make me happy,

Just thoughts of Edward that make me sappy.

No party planning to attend to,

Just lots of clean-up left to do.

No excitement, no thrill, no anticipation...

Just memories of a night when New Moon was our destination.

I have to say that I've been in somewhat of a lull. I miss the hubbub that surrounded the last few weeks...putting together decorations, making goodie bags, nailing down a menu, discussing New Moon with my friends, counting down the days and hours...I miss it all...oh, and my date with Edward and Jacob. To put it in a nutshell, it was AMAZING! The party was so super fun. Everyone showed up. Everyone had a good time. Everyone played along w/ my silly games...and they liked it (or at least they pretended for my sake...and because they knew there was prizes involved). The movie was beyond words. I don't even have the right descriptiveness to tell you exactly how I feel. I LOVE that movie.

OK, my review...I thought that Christ Weitz did a fabulous job. He's a directing genius. I'm a lover of the books and I treasure those words that Stephenie wrote and the characters that she brought to life for me through those words. Chris definitely honored the book and held true to the feeling of the book. I felt like he didn't skip anything...although I know he did or we would have been there all night (or morning). I loved the cinematography. I loved the warm feel of the colors. The make-up artists should get huge props for making the Cullens look a hundred times better than more pasty Wal-Mart Halloween make-up...they were all gorgeous! Rosalie looked absolutely beautiful. Jasper was not quite as weird. Bella looked more mature (which she should b/c she's a whole year older in NM). Edward looked rock-hard and sparkly, just as he should. Jacob had me in a trance with his rippling chest and abs, his bulky shoulders, and that beautiful smile. He is his own sun. It ended with the proposal, and went black...just as it should. All is right in my Twilight world...except for the fact that I'm in a slight state of New Moon depression. When I walked into my office this morning, there was no huge party box overflowing with Twilight Edward and Jacob behind my door. It was sad. I've seen it twice already and have plans to see it for a 3rd time on Wednesday! Maybe that will help. I know what would really help...I'm thinking Eclipse. Just when you thought all this was over...think again...Eclipse will be here in 218 days! We've already started planning!

OK, now onto the winner of my New Moon Giveaway...

I transferred each person's comments over to a word document and gave each of you your appropriate number of entries in order of when you commented. Then I numbered each entry...

and went to the random number generator ( and plugged in the number of total entries w/ random number result of 15...

And the winner is...

Michelle from Tickled Pink & Fabulous...and I am tickled pink that she won! She is an awesome blogging buddy, fellow Twi-hard (true true fan), and sister from another mister. We share tons in common (even outside of the Twilight realm). She has a fabulous blog, so be sure to stop by if you don't already! Congrats, Michelle! I think the *crossed fingers* really worked! ;)

Lastly, I've got a few more pics from my party that I stole borrowed from people who were there. I wasn't able to take as many pictures because I was busy hostessing, so I'm glad others had their cameras. I'm sure they won't mind me sharing.

Miss Manda

Me and Allison - her and I are already consipiring for Eclipse! Can't wait!Telena, Edward, and I
Edward, Allie, Me, and Jake...I think I was checking out his biceps.
Getting ready to go see New was coming to a close. I love this group shot...wish everyone would have been in it.
Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday!!♥

New Moon Party Pics

My New Moon party was a HUGE success in my book! I'm just not sure how it could have been any better...unless of course Edward would have shown up in flesh and cold sparkly skin.

Here's an overview of the party *warning: picture OVERLOAD*

LOTS of GREAT friends showed bloggy friend Dawn and 3 of her friends came. It's so great to now know Dawn, Jen, Michelle, and Dana IRL! Thanks for coming girls!

My red Chuck Taylor's

Me and Amanda at the 10:15 showing this morning...yep, true fans...we've seen it twice in 10 hours.

My cousin Allison, Me, and Amanda...don't say anything about the bags under our eyes...we were working on about 3 hours of sleep and NO coffee...that's the price we were willing to pay for one more date with Edward and Jacob.

Hope everyone who went to New Moon last night had as much fun as I did!!! If you're going in the near future, you're in for a's yummy! You're going to love it! If you're not planning on going...change of plans...GO SEE IT! It was AH-MAZING!
