Relay For Life 2010

Our Wagoner Co. Relay For Life 2010 was Friday and Saturday...

and it was a success!

The 2010 RFL theme is "Celebrating More Birthdays".  We like to be a little different, so we decided to throw a Batman birthday party.  The slogan we put on our shirts was "To the Batcave...for more birthdays" and we added in the scripture out of Jeremiah 33:3 that says "Call unto me and I will answer...".

The team count and money raised was down from years past.  However, we still succeeded!  There was a county total of $43,000. raised.  16 teams participated.  We relayed for 12 hours straight.

We remembered those who have fought and lost the battle.

We celebrated those who have fought and won the battle.

We raised awareness.  It was a success.

If you want to participate and/or donate, click on the button below.

Cancer effects everyone...you either have a loved one, friend, friend of a friend, co-worker, neighbor, or have experienced it yourself.  It's time that we remove this terrible disease for good.  We've got to give people hope.  We've got to celebrate, remember, and FIGHT BACK!

I LOVE THIS...Breast Cancer "dance"

This came in an e-mail to me today:

Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves. I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn't been touched by breast cancer?

Ann Somers

I think it's a good reminder, even though it's not Breast Cancer Awareness month...we still need to check the ta-tas and support Cancer research! Take a break to groove to this video...I totally did.

Blogging Business

First of all, I've been having some bloggy issues. It all started a few weeks ago, when I could not post comments on a few of my favorite blogs. Then, starting last week, it started happening more frequently on other blogs. THEN, yesterday, when I tried logging into my OWN blog, it was kicking me out and giving me the same error message. What the holy beans and hockey sticks is going on around here? Well, whatever it is, it seems to be better today. Hopefully, I'll be able to successfully post this and venture over to some of your blogs and leave some love.

Second bit of bloggy business is that I'm starting to mail out my THANK YOUs to the people who commented for a CAUSE! Thanks again to everyone! Everybody will receive a note from me and at least one little something to show my gratitude and to hopefully raise the awareness for cancer research! ONE of you will receive this:

A Ca-UTE pink camera clutch and a pink (of course) mini photo album!

Two of you will be getting a fun pink (or course) reusable shopping bag and a $5 Target gift card. (which I didn't take a picture of...sorry.)

Five of you will be getting an adorable Hope Bottlecap Necklace:

from Tabasc1 Designs on Etsy! She was a delight to buy from and had SUPER quick shipping. Thanks again, Toni! Also, all of the money she makes from these necklaces go straight to RELAY FOR LIFE! How cool is that?!

Four of you will be getting an adorable pink/white awareness headband:

from Princess Babies Bowtique on Etsy! I bought one for myself! They are super cute! Again, all proceeds go to RFL and American Cancer Society. Thanks, Joan! Please click on the links and visit their Etsy stores.

Please follow the links and go check out their Etsy stores! You'll love 'em! (Above pictures are from Tabasc1 Designs and Princess Babies Bowtique, LLC)

I used randomizer to see who got what so that it would be totally fair and unbiased!

I have one small itsy bitsy favor...when you get your package in the mail, would you mind to make a short post about Relay for Life/ACS...you could add it on to another post or whatever, but just mention it on your blog and let's work together to make a difference!

Hope you guys are having a great week so far!

Last day to COMMENT FOR A CAUSE!

This is the last day that you (or anyone else...really...anyone...friends, family, anybody that has a blogger account, or anyone who would just like to comment anonymously) can comment for a cause! So, hurry on over to my post and comment, if you haven't already! Thanks in advance!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Bloggiversary and Commenting for a Cause!

Don't count me absent...I'm here! Sorry for the MIA status. The past week and a half has been busy, but nothing more than that. No drama to report here. Nothing exciting. There have been no catastrophes. I didn't over use the Biore strips. I didn't over dose on coffee. Edward didn't come and carry me away in his shiney volvo. I didn't run away. Yes, I'm still blogging. No, I didn't forget about you. I wish I had something more thrilling to tell you...

Oh, well there are a couple of little things I've been meaning to blog about.

My bloggiversary is coming up on May 29th. I can't believe it's almost been a whole year since I started blogging...then on the other hand I feel like I've been doing this forever. None the less, I would like to celebrate!! I thought about a giveaway, but that wasn't exactly what I wanted. I've been mulling it over for a week or so and it finally came to me the other night while laying in bed. (Most of my great thoughts come to me while laying in bed or while sitting in the bathroom.) I would like to use this opportunity to draw attention to something that is near and dear to my heart. Something I've spent a lot of hours supporting and raising money for. Something I feel we all should support. So, I'm going to give you a chance to make a difference. The 'something' I'm talking about is Relay For Life. If you don't know what Relay For Life is, where have you been? Just kidding. It is an organization that raises money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The yearly relays celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those who have lost the battle, and helps to fight back against this terrible disease. I know for a fact that we have all been affected by this disease in one way or another. Maybe you are a survivor yourself. Maybe a loved one is currently fighting this disease. Maybe you hold dear the memory of someone who has passed away due to this disease. Whatever your connection, you know that this is a senseless disease that MUST BE STOPPED. So, for my bloggiversary, I would like to donate $1 for every person who comments on this post. I always participate in my local RFL, and I plan on doing so this year, but the money that I donate from this post will go to Melissa (The Crazy Daisy/my bff). She is the biggest advocate for RFL and ACS that I know. She inspires me to do more. To read more about her passion for this cause go HERE. (but don't click over before you comment) On Melissa's page, she also has a link where YOU can donate if you would like. Just remember that no amount is too small. Every little bit helps. This post will be open for comments for donations until June 15th. The first 25 people (maybe more) who comment on this post will also receive in the mail (free of cost) a token of my appreciation for taking the time to comment for such a worthy cause. Tell your friends! I don't have a limit on the comments. If I need to, I'm prepared to call in backup ("MOM!").

Have a wonderful Wednesday and don't forget to comment (and tell your friends)!

p.s. I promise I'll be making my rounds to all of your wonderful blogs asap. I've missed you guys and have a lot of catching up to do!
