Weekend Ramblings and Book Review

I just wanted to let you guys know that the Twilight Party was SO MUCH FUN! I'm serious. My husband thought I was completely crazy for wanting to go (well, he already knows I'm crazy, but crazy to a higher degree). My mom went with me. She's not a big Twilight fan, in fact she thinks I'm crazy too, but loves me so much that she tagged along and helped me with Isaiah...and stood in line so we could have another copy of the Borders Special Edition. Which by the way, was well worth it!! It came with not only the 2-disc DVD set, but also a set of these FABULOUS Twilight scene cards...they call them postcards, but they're so much more than that! Oh.My.Goodness. Ok, can you tell I'm still excited. I know, pretty ridiculous. I just love me some Twilight. I was introduced to a new term/acronym that is right up my alley...OME...Oh My Edward. Love that!

This is the only picture I thought to snap of the group...and this is just a small portion of them from when we were all sitting down to play a Twilight Trivia game. I know it looks like I'm surrounded by 12 year olds, but there were some there that were over 30.

Here's my coveted copy of the Twilight DVD! Not a very good picture, but the DVD itself is AWESOME!

Now, on to another little tid bit of information. I joined the Literacy Sisters Society. It's a blogging book club. Our first book to read was The Host by Stephenie Meyer. What an EXCELLENT choice. You all know how fantastic Stephenie is already. She, of course, wrote the saga most of us love and adore...TWILIGHT! I knew I would love this book, but I did not know how much I would love this book. Let me tell you...I love it a lot! The book is basically a sci-fi book for the non-sci-fi reader. It's about a girl, Melanie, who becomes the host body to a soul from another planet...or planets. I thought perhaps this book might go against everything I believe, but that is so not true. The book really speaks about humanity and love. It's about accepting people for who they are, and once again Stephenie introduces us to an unconventional kind of love. It's wonderful! I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who would like to read it, so I won't say too much more.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!

OME! The Twilight party looks like so much fun! I am so bummed that I was sick Friday night and couldn't go get one. I am loving The Host as well. Stephenie just sucks you in and you love her characters.

I just love you Jenny Kate : ). You are too fun! I am glad the party was GREAT! That makes me delighted. I also love that you joined a book club! I think books are so wonderful. I would like to curl up in a chair and read all night. Can you come feed Kaish for me? Great : ). And since you are going to be here, go ahead and empty the dishwasher, put the groceries away, do the laundry and make the beds. It's 6:00 and I still haven't made them yet. I am the worst Mom in America. Don't tell anyone. Let's just keep it between us : ). MMMMMMMMmmmmK?

It is the Twilight Party! I adored this re-cap. My favorite part? Most definitely seeing the women in the Twilight gear.

Thank you for this!

I didn't go to any Twilight parties but I did get my DVD on Saturday. I watched it two more times over the weekend. I just LOVE that movie and series of books.

I am also reading the Host in the book club and am almost through with it. I'm in chapter 57. I have really enjoyed the book also. At first I was a bit iffy...it seemed to start off slow but since chapter 4 I have had a hard time putting it down. I hope Stephenie Meyers writes more books cause I seem to LOVE her writing style.

I am one of those older ladies who thought I would not like Twilight since most of the characters are in their 20's. Well I had a younger friend who encouraged me to read it. Well I can tell you I couldn't put it down! I am a fan of Stephenie Meyer's now!

My daughter would have loved the Twilight party. Thanks for telling us all about it.
Hopefully I will be able to join in with The Literary Sisiter's May book. We are going to be in Disneyworld for most of April so no reading for me there!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
