Seriously, People

This is NOT OK.

It is not OK to have a big honkin' Christmas tree in the middle of Wal-Mart the day after Halloween.

It is NOT OK to have Christmas music blaring in Khol's on an average Monday night in the beginning of November.

It is NOT OK to have your house already decorated and lit up.  I don't care if you are from across the border.  That is not how we do things in this neck of the woods.

We must give thanks first.

Give thanks, people!

Then, we can say Merry Christmas, decorate trees, blare Christmas music, hang lights...and drink Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks.

The day after Thanksgiving.

It doesn't bother me if other people do it, but I won't do it until AFTER Thanksgiving. :)

Oh no, I am scared to tell you this! but my house has been decorated for Christmas since Oct. 30th. Normally I do it on Nov. 1st but I was going to be busy that day so Oct. 30th it was. :) I still give thanks, but 3 weeks of Christmas decorations is just not enough for me! Please don't hate me! :)

Oh, Jennifer, I beg to differ. It's always time for a peppermint white chocolate mocha. :) LOL!

I agree with you.
Give thanks to Jesus!

I agree with all of it...except the peppermint mocha thing. It hit spot on Sunday when my pottery sadness and the cold wind dented my soul. :)

I decorate my house like the day before Christmas. but just because I procrastinate.

I agree, there should be some kind of law or something. We decorate the day after Thanksgiving! I do keep my Christmas decorations and tree up through January though, LOL!

I absolutely agree!!!

But, I have already started looking for Christmas crafts to get some teacher gifts made. I don't want to wait until the last minute this year.

I agree with you. And I'll just go ahead and tell you that I have NEVER in the 8 years that I've been married decorated my house for Christmas. Yes, I have a pre-lit tree that's never been opened and I have boxes and boxes of decorations that haven't been used. WE ARE NEVER HOME (we're either at my moms or in Michigan) and we lived in Texas for so long that nobody would ever see my cuteness so I have yet to do it. And now that we still live where nobody stops by, why do it now? So Emma could yank off an ornament and eat it causing a possible choking hazard?

DON'T YOU JUDGE ME EITHER LITTLE MISSY. And don't say bah humbug either. Because I love Christmas. But not Christmas music. I know. I'm a loser.

We are always late decorating for Christmas. It's usually the end of the first week in December before we even think about it. Our shops are full of Christmas stuff already too.

you should check out my blog! I just did a post about this! I was going to pose with my thumbs down in front of the christmas tree at walmart the other day but had no one to take my picture! SULDOG the blog I linked to in my post is having a THANKSGIVING COMES FIRST campaign! Go visit and link up this post! I bet he'd love it!

there are trucks everywhere around here with "we hang lights" signs on them. Really my begonia's have yet to die... so no lights will be hung in the near future! We hang the outside lights right after thanksgiving but the indoor tree waits for a bit as my loving husband requires a "real" tree... not the "perfect prelit" tree I have always loved. The sad thing is that Hobby Lobby has been celebrating Christmas since JULY!!!

LOL! I LOVE Christmas. It pained me that my husband wouldn't let us get a Christmas tree until the second weekend in December {until last year, that is!}. But, we're still decorated for Fall and Harvest. No Christmas decorations for us until the day after Thanksgiving ;)

Yes it is! Yes it is okay! I love it! I love the WHOLE season! Including Thanksgiving, but it's all just one giant celebration to me! I don't have decorations up ... but I have my Christmas music playing!

And I'm thankful for you!

Thanks so much for this! I'll give you a link in my next round-up of posts concerning the subject!

I'm very sad for Thanksgiving.

The trees were up in my walmart ON Halloween...because I was there buying candy when they were carting the candy away....at 10am. ON HALLOWEEN!

We're waiting until the day after Thanksgiving, but I totally want my tree up now!

I am so with you! I cant stand how everyone rushes into Christmas without getting through Thanksgiving first.

I feel the same way! It was embedded into my DNA to never decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving (I start at midnight!) and to not take the Christmas decorations down until after New Years Day. Funny how family traditions continue on in some people!
