McLinky Monday - John Hughes

The RHOK

This week's question:
What is your favorite John Hughes film and why?

JennyKate's question:
Who the heck is John Hughes?

Apparently, (according to Wikipedia) he's some uber famous filmmaker.

Filmography

How do you choose a favorite from all of these?  Do you choose one of the Vacation movies?  What about Ferris Bueller's Day Off?  Pretty In Pink has to be at the top of the list.

Tons of classic Brat Pack.

I think I'm going with The Breakfast Club.  I've watched this movie so many times.  I love all of the actors.  It's so funny and still has a deeper darker edge. I also really love the way that it portrays high school and all of the little clicks and groups.  The best part is when they realize how similar they all really are.  Fantastic movie.

How do I pick?!? "Sixteen Candles" is an all-time-fave of mine...but so is "She's Having a Baby". LOVE both of the soundtracks, too.

Really? You didn't know?!
Ok, I admit - I only knew who he was because he died recently and they made a big deal about all of these movies then.
I love that you heard the Breakfast Club message loud and clear and that is why you chose it as your favorite. Awesome.
Now if everyone else would love it for the same reason. :)

Girl, I couldn't pick just one either!! I don't think he made a bad movie. That man was a writing machine.

I loved The Breakfast Club for the same reason as you. Such a classic movie....

Jenny...I didn't know who he was either!

He's made a lot of good movies but my favorite is probably Pretty in Pink. Why is Jonni judging you?

I would tease you about having your nose in a Twilight book, except that you're a baby. Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, Weird Science... those were all made when I was in high school. John Hughes was a demi-god that all 80s teens worshiped.

For the record, for me, it's a toss up between Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club.

I would have a hard time with this one. Sixteen Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful, and The Breakfast Club are all on my favorites list!
