Friday Confessions

  • I am a nerd of epic proportions.  I just recently realized this, which explains a lot.
  • I do countdowns to book releases, for crying out loud.  It's like I can smell the fresh, unturned pages just waiting on me.  Oh, the endless possibilities that await between those book covers.  *Nerd Alert*
  • I sit out in my front yard in a lawn chair for 2 hours watching a meteor shower at 2:00 in the morning.
  • I'm not as tough-skinned as I would like to think.  Occasionally, my feelings get hurt.
  • I cheated on my diet this week...of epic proportions (I'm liking this phrase).  However, I still managed to lose 3.5 pounds.  Sweet.
  • I can not live without Starbucks.  I tried and I failed.
  • Isaiah starts school a week from today and I went and checked out the class lists this morning.  As soon as I got to work, I sent an email asking for him to be switched out of the class he was placed in.  Am I one of "those" parents?  Gosh, I hope not.  I just really want him to have a good year and I couldn't see that happening with the teacher he had.
Anything you would like to confess?

I think you are a great parent. I am pretty sure our school would not let us switch teachers. I am praying and praying that he has a nice teacher. He had a great year last year and so much of it was due to having a nice teacher! Bad teachers are the WORST!

We should all be "that Mom" when it comes to our children and their academic success. No one knows what's best for their children more than their Momma!

Seriously Jenny, Sometimes I think you are my long lost daughter! I'm with you on the books, I was out by myself at 2 in the morning watching the star show, I've been trying to cut back on Starbucks but "Hello?" It's just not possible at this moment... AND I did the same thing with my kids and got them into the class where I liked the teacher-The school hated me, but it's my kid, I didn't care!

Have a great week!

Good luck switching the teacher. Most schools will tell you NO.
Hopefully it will be a good year no matter who he has.
Loved your list.

Trust me I get the teacher thing. We live in a small town and our school only has one of each grade. It is so frustrating because I wish I could change her out of her class

Don't feel bad....I am impatiently waiting on three books to be released within the next several months. And I can't live with Starbucks either!
