All Aboard!

Saturday morning, we boarded a train and headed south!  This was our first experience on a long distance train ride and let me tell you, it is the WAY to go!  We had 9 people in our group and you couldn't ask for better traveling conditions.  People can go to the bathroom when they want and as frequently as they want.  There is a snack car that sells sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and sundries.  The seats are roomy and comfortable...they even have 120v plug-ins!  We were only on the train for about 3 1/2 hours and it went by so fast.  Everyone, even my paranoid cousin (who had to take a Valium), said they had a great time.

This was just the beginning to a fabulous fun weekend.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you more pictures.

Have you been on a train ride?  Where to?

Train rides are fun. We went on the Day Out with Thomas last year. Best train ride I've been on was in Europe. We took the Eurostar from London to Paris. It rocked! I would love to travel that way. We went so fast through France. It was wonderful.

I haven't been on a train, but I'm sure I would love it! The only one I've been on was a holiday excursion and summer excursion train...not far.
I want to ride the one from here to the zoo!!!

OOOOooo what fun!!! If I would have known you were on the train I could have come and waved at you in Ardmore!!!!! Lexi's dance studio is right by the train station there....walking distance and my little part-time job is just a couple of blocks away. We went on the train once just from Ardmore, OK to Gainesville, TX when Lexi was in kindergarten for a field trip to the Gainesville Zoo. I do think a long trip on the train would be a blast!

SO fun!! We went from Dallas to Chicago to NYC one Spring Break aobut 10 years ago- we were in a sleeping berth which was ok- but I swore I'd never do it again!! Maybe a shorter trip- but not an overnight!!

Sounds like you had a great time! I have only been on a train once. Paris to Southern France. At the time it was the fastest train in the world. It was fun!

I see you visited one of my favorite parks in Downtown FW. I LOVE the panther statue. I used to work a couple of blocks from there and we used to take our lunches and sit and eat in the park. Hope you enjoyed your trip to our current "home town"!

I LOVE LOVE LOVED my train trip to NYC in March for Remember Me! I really want to go back to the big apple & that is DEFINITELY the way to go. If we could reasonably travel from here to visit Matt's family in Louisianna, I'd do it on a train in a heartbeat - but it would cost a fortune and take forever. Oh well :)

That sounds fun! I was wishing there was a train from Boise to Salt Lake last weekend when I had to drive that with just me and the kids. A train would have been so much better!!

XOXO
