That's right. I'm no longer "Jennifer", "Jenny", "Jenny Kate", "Jen"...nope, I'm "Isaiah's Mom".
I remember when I was younger and my mom would jokingly say that she should just change her name to "Jenny's Mom" and I didn't quite fully get the gist of that. Now I do. After spending a couple of hours with Isaiah's kindergarten class, I now know what she was talking about.
"Hey, Isaiah's Mom...take my picture!"
"Hey, Isaiah's Mom...see how fast I can run!"
"Hey, Isaiah's Mom...can you tie my shoe?"
"Hey, Isaiah's Mom...what's your name?"
I say, "Jenny".
10 second later. Same kid. "Hey, Isaiah's Mom...watch me do THIS!"
I kinda dig it.
I think it's a pretty good fit.

That's awesome! I get that all the time! And you know what? There's nothing I'd rather be.
And honestly, Isaiah's Mom... I mean Jenny, what could be better?

oh...so true. That is a cute AB/CD shirt!!! The haulin' dirt one is cute too!
Yep Im Rhiannons mom or Mrs Short to all the kids too. Monday Rhiannon had a friend over from school thats only been here one other time and she called me Mrs Short a couple of times and I said "its ok you can just call me Amanda"...she just giggled
LOL. I feel your pain.
Love,
Dominic's Mom
Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean. At Lexi's age they finally REALIZE that I do have a name instead of just Lexi's mom!!!!!
I love this post! It's so true.
When I taught kindergarten I was called "Teacher" most of the year. Some kids would eventually call me by name, but others never would.
My grandmother (who was a teacher for over 40 years) once told me that she didn't mind being called teacher. She told me that we call the doctor, doctor. It's an honor to just be called teacher too.
So glad you had fun. The pictures were a great account of your day.
Cute pictures! I love being _______'s mom -- so fun!
Have a wonderful weekend Jenny!
XOXO
Jen
It's soooo funny how kids call us that! :) and even funnier when they think we're their second mother or something because theirs is not there.....cute!
You'll be featured today:) Congrats!
Hi!
I just wandered over from Vic's feature on The Bloggers Club, and I love your blog :-)
I can totally relate to this new name of yours. My daughter Bella isn't even 10 months yet, but it's already happened to me. When I get to daycare to pick her, the other kids yell, "It's Bella's mommy!"
I like it too. :-)
Happy weekend!!
Came over from the bloggers club, and I have to agree. YOU are adorable! loving your blog.

Aw, you got to go on a field trip :( I haven't been on one yet (little people) but next year I WILL! I do love going into the schools though - apparently people can tell just by looking at me that I'm 'Evie's Mom' :)
It just keeps getting better as he gets older, wait until you are Mrs..... and you feel like they are talking to your MIL. :)
Kim in OK (or your neck of the woods)
I'm sure you swelled with pride!
Hi Jenny,
