Mod Podge Mania

My AWEsome friend, Xazmin @ This is the Year, hosts MOD PODGE MANIA! She always has some fabulous things that she has mod podged (is that a word?). I'm totally loving the "BOO" blocks that she posted pics of last month. Go HERE to see them. This month she posted pics of some books that she covered in sheet music to use as decoration on her piano...so clever. There are lots of great links to some adorable mod podge projects...be sure to make the rounds!

I've been wanting to play along and haven't had the time to make any new crafts recently, so I'm pulling one out of the vault.

Last year, I made TONS of these little guys. I made them in oranges and golds. I also made some red and black SPARKLY ones (you know, "Twilight-ish"). They are super easy to make. Just take a pumpkin, smear it with a thin layer of mod podge, and generously sprinkle with - glitter (over a bowl, then reuse the excess glitter) - I LOVE things that sparkle. *wink* As a final step, take them outdoors and spray them with a sealant. This year I'm going to make them with artificial pumpkins so that I can save them from year to year.

Ribbon is a cute way to tie everything together...

I LOVE pumpkins!

Hope you've all had a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

Pumpkin Decorating and Trick-or-Treating!

Pumpkin decorating and trick-or-treating...that's what Halloween is all about when you're four! Isaiah informed me that on Halloween night (he said this in his most spooky voice) after all the kids get their treats, they get their tricks! Now, in his four year old mind, I'm not sure what he thinks of as tricks. If any come up, I'll be sure to let y'all know. (Did I just throw a y'all in there...you did know I'm from Oklahoma, right? However, I normally try to type more proper than that...teeheehee...)

Here's Isaiah's Monster Pumpkin that he made! Scary, huh?

Here he was in his laboratory...or the kitchen table...but doesn't laboratory sound so much better. We also have a volcano upstairs with hot lava coming out of it. You're not supposed to step on the wood floors...unless you have the special shoes on that protect your feet from the burning hot lava =)

This is a pic of Isaiah and a few of his good friends from school while they were down town trick-or-treating...well, just treats, no tricks.

Here's one more...that robot costume cracks me up...if you push this little button on the bottom it says "take me to your leader"...lol

Hope everyone has a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Weekend Review

Well,...

Ok,...

So,...

Yeah, this weekend, or should I say the first part of Saturday was a big 'ol bummer. My Sooners got beat by Texas! I strongly dislike Texas (sorry for anyone who reads this and is from Texas...I really just have issues with UT or A&M, but if you're just from TX in general it's ok...it's totally a football thing). I don't want to say I knew it or anything like that, but on Saturday morning I was sitting on the couch with the sickest feeling in my stomach. My husband kept on talking smack about Texas and how OU was definitely the better team, and how we would DEFINITELY beat them by more than a touchdown...and on...and on...and on. I just started sensing defeat. Kinda like the feeling I had when we played West Virginia. When we went into half-time with a one point difference...the feeling got stronger. Then Reynolds got hurt and he's part of the backbone of our defense, so there ya go...#1 down the drain!

Saturday evening was better. My mom and I took Isaiah to Carmichael's Pumpkin Patch. I LOVE pumpkins and boy do they have pumpkins...small ones, big ones, CINDERELLA ones, green ones, WHITE ones, bright orange, pale orange...you name it, they've got it! Here's some pics...

King of the pumpkins...

One of my favorite pics...
Isaiah hugging the baby goat...(that is a hug, right?...not a head-lock?...let's hope it's a hug) :P
Isaiah riding Sarah the camel...
Loading our wheelbarrow full of pumpkins...see my Cinderella ones :)
There were LOADS of pumpkins...this isn't even half of it...and behind those big bins of pumpkins was an awesome hay maze...Isaiah ran through there at lightning speeds! One time he came out and his cheek was all dirty and a little red. So, I asked him what happened. He said that he thought he was going through a door, but it was a wall...that could be a problem. Didn't slow him down though. He's tough.

Here's Isaiah and his Memo (like Nemo the fish, but with an M)...they love each other!
Isaiah and Mommy...
Isaiah riding Blaze the pony...
Where's Isaiah?
My fav pic...I LOVE white pumpkins!
Hope y'all enjoyed! I tried to load a slideshow from Flickr, but it WOULD NOT work...argh!

Witches Shoes and Pumpkins

I still can't leave the Halloween decorating be...I have a million ideas running through my head and I've been jumping from craft project to craft project. Working overtime last week really put a cramp in my style, if you know what I mean?! So, I was able to finish a few things I've been working on and here are some pics...

More pumpkins with ribbons...love these!

And a pair of witches shoes...

I've got a few more things I've been playing around with. I'll post some more soon.

ta-ta for now...

Oh, speaking of ta-tas, everybody knows this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so be sure to do your part...eat some yoplait yogurt and save the lids, go get a breast exam, do a self breast exam, join a walk or marathon! Get out there and save the ta-tas!
