Football Fever

I know some of you...*achem*Mimi*achem*...aren't a fan of the gridiron
but football is a way of life for us.

The first of September brings
Friday night lights and
Saturday sensations...
and Sunday afternoon heroes.

We eat, sleep, and drink football.

So, please excuse me while I unload
the last 164 pictures off of my camera...

I kid.
I won't bore you with the entire batch,
but I'm going to post some highlights.

I've got everything from little boys...
to the big boys...
There is only ONE Oklahoma.
I love the Boys of Fall!
I especially LOVE my Alma Mater and meeting up with friends from college!♥

Who's your favorite team?
If you don't have a favorite team...
what's your favorite color?
I can match you up with a team you can support! =)
please say red, please say red, please say red.
I can teach you some cheers and we could even build a pyramid in the back yard.
Sorry, that's the inner cheerleader in me coming out.

Hodgepodge

This post is just a hodgepodge of random thoughts. I was thinking that perhaps I made that word up in my mind, because I do that often, but then quickly opened up another browser window and punched it in to the hand-dandy http://www.dictionary.com/ and found out that I did NOT make it up! whew. It means a"heterogeneous mixture". Yep, that's what this post is going to be a heterogeneous mixture. I like using big words. That one is going into my long term memory. So, I said I was going to blog more frequently and here I am. I know you're stoked.

First, I would just like to say that I am ECSTATIC that football is right around the corner, hence the new blog header. I love my SOONERS! There is only ONE Oklahoma...you did know that right? If you're unsure, you should watch this video...

Are you PUMPED? I am. I love it.

Second, I would just like to say for my fellow Twi-holics out there that we are now a mere 92 days away from NEW MOON!! Wow. Have any of you been to a TwiCon? I want to go to one. Like bad. There are about 10 of them coming up in the next year. I want to be at one of them. I'm not sure what they do at a Twilight Convention, but I want to find out.

Maybe one of them will show up?

Random topic #3, I weighed in at WW yesterday for the first time since vacation and I gained half of a pound. I was disappointed yesterday, but today I decided I'm going to look at it as an accomplishment. I mean, I did go on vacation for 6 days and totally enjoyed myself while I was gone...no regrets. I WILL do better this week. I've been drinking water like crazy. I wish there was a way to drink lots of water and not go to the bathroom every 22 minutes. ugh! I brought lots of veggies and fruit with me to work today. No eating out!

I thought I would share an easy Weight Watcher recipe with you. It may not sound very good, but you should try it...you might like it!

Bean Soup

1 can beef broth

1 can fat free re-fried beans

1 can Rotel (diced tomatoes and peppers)

Mix all three cans together and bring to a low boil.

It's fast and easy...and only 1 point per cup on WW! You can put a ham sandwich or a veggie quesadilla with this soup and it's a yummy low-point/low-cal meal! Another variation is to add tortilla strips or baked tortilla chips in the soup with some low-fat cheese. Good!

Hope everyone is having a FABULOUS day!!

OU/Texas Tech Game

Saturday night's game was probably the best game that I've been to at Owen Field EVER!! For me it was more exciting than the OU/Nebraska game in 2000. OU was #5 and Texas Tech was #2...the stakes were high...the stands were loud...and the shoot-out was on!

The crowd was a whopping 85,000+! At 30 minutes prior to game time, the Pride of Oklahoma took the field and the electricity was almost visible. We were packed in there like sardines. Stoops had called us out. He said that OU wasn't the loudest stadium he'd ever been to and that the fans weren't that pivotal in a game. Reverse psychology? Maybe. Whatever it was, it worked!! Everybody was loud, proud, and on their feet. We had Bradford and Harrell in the same stadium...we were sure we were going to see some action and just praying that it was in OU's favor. The first quarter got off to a great start with OU's defense stopping the Raiders and the OU offense making the first touchdown of the game. That's key. It kind of sets the momentum of the game. No one was going anywhere...thirsty, you'll have to wait...need to pee, well that'll wait too. Mike and I hadn't ate since we left Wagoner, like 5 hours prior, but that didn't matter either. With every touchdown the excitement grew...we were screaming and yelling and jumping up and down...high-fives everywhere. They started playing that old song Jump Around by House of Pain (maybe?). Imagine 85,000 fans all "jumping around"...crazy! At half-time, the score was in our favor and the momentum was going our way. There was an interception and the crowd went wild! The second half was no different. The crowd was off-the-hook and Sam and crew were right on target. The defense was shutting Tech down. It was great! I don't think anyone thought that it would end like it did. I myself had felt good about the game, no bad feelings (like I felt when we played Texas), but never did I think we would win so decisively. BOOMER SOONER!!

Here's some more pics from the game:
*remember to pause my playlist before starting video*

Weekend Review

Well,...

Ok,...

So,...

Yeah, this weekend, or should I say the first part of Saturday was a big 'ol bummer. My Sooners got beat by Texas! I strongly dislike Texas (sorry for anyone who reads this and is from Texas...I really just have issues with UT or A&M, but if you're just from TX in general it's ok...it's totally a football thing). I don't want to say I knew it or anything like that, but on Saturday morning I was sitting on the couch with the sickest feeling in my stomach. My husband kept on talking smack about Texas and how OU was definitely the better team, and how we would DEFINITELY beat them by more than a touchdown...and on...and on...and on. I just started sensing defeat. Kinda like the feeling I had when we played West Virginia. When we went into half-time with a one point difference...the feeling got stronger. Then Reynolds got hurt and he's part of the backbone of our defense, so there ya go...#1 down the drain!

Saturday evening was better. My mom and I took Isaiah to Carmichael's Pumpkin Patch. I LOVE pumpkins and boy do they have pumpkins...small ones, big ones, CINDERELLA ones, green ones, WHITE ones, bright orange, pale orange...you name it, they've got it! Here's some pics...

King of the pumpkins...

One of my favorite pics...
Isaiah hugging the baby goat...(that is a hug, right?...not a head-lock?...let's hope it's a hug) :P
Isaiah riding Sarah the camel...
Loading our wheelbarrow full of pumpkins...see my Cinderella ones :)
There were LOADS of pumpkins...this isn't even half of it...and behind those big bins of pumpkins was an awesome hay maze...Isaiah ran through there at lightning speeds! One time he came out and his cheek was all dirty and a little red. So, I asked him what happened. He said that he thought he was going through a door, but it was a wall...that could be a problem. Didn't slow him down though. He's tough.

Here's Isaiah and his Memo (like Nemo the fish, but with an M)...they love each other!
Isaiah and Mommy...
Isaiah riding Blaze the pony...
Where's Isaiah?
My fav pic...I LOVE white pumpkins!
Hope y'all enjoyed! I tried to load a slideshow from Flickr, but it WOULD NOT work...argh!
