Eclipse Party Pics!

Well, here we are...on the flip side.
I'm in a slight state of Eclipse induced hangover.
Not because I drank too much, although the Pomegranate Martinis were DELISH,
but because what I've been planning for, working on,
and looking forward to for the past 6 months has now come and gone.
However, it was amazing...something I won't soon forget...
and I'm pretty sure the Fire and Ice Party was a huge success.
Take a look...
(please excuse the pic spam)
THE Party Planners...
The Ice Room

Veggie {Vamp} - notice Pocket Edward...he shows up a LOT at my parties. He just can't stay away from me.
Our Tent Scene in the Ice Room
Marry me...{engagement rings included...everybody at the party had some bling}
Fire Room
Cupcakes.  I ♥ how these toppers turned out!  These are the ones I printed off of HWTM blog that I mentioned in my Party Planning post.

LOTS of red ribbon.

The Candy Bar

Black Swan Wine

Chocolate dipped marshmallows

Ask Alice.
{we had chocolate dipped fortune cookies sitting on the little table}

Pin the Kiss on Edward.

or Pin the Kiss on Dawn!

Winners, Winners!
Swag Bags for everyone! {included: Wuthering Heights book, Fire and Ice bookmark, Jacob and Edward magnets, a Bella Bracelet, a Fire and Ice CD, and Dentyne Fire and Ice gum}
Do you see Jen's bling?
Getting ready to head to the theater!  Finally seeing our first Twi-premiere together!! ♥
Movie Maddness! {this was after seeing Eclipse...which was AMAZING, in case you were wondering what my opinion of the movie is}  I'm pretty sure we entertained the entire theater for a good hour before the movie started.  We got more shoooshs and stares than any of the teeny boppers.
What can we say?  Girls just wanna have fun!
Where's our space heater?!
{Allison, out!  LOL.  She was soooo done.}
Have you seen Eclipse?
If so, what was your favorite part/line?
My favorite scene is the tent scene for sure...
or maybe the bedroom scene with Edward and Bella and the final proposal...
that resulted in a "yes"...
oh, sorry.
No spoilers.
I promised.
If you haven't seen it in IMAX, I highly recommend.  I've already been twice and have plans for another movie date this weekend.
That's how much I adore this movie.
It's my favorite by far.
Eclipse has always been my favorite book
and the movie follows suit.
The cast looks absolutely gorgeous.
There is so much wit and humor...
and lots of touching tear-jerking moments.
It's a perfect balance.
The wolf and vamp action is intense and I LOVE it.
It's exactly what I had hoped it would be and more!
Two thumbs up!

JennyKate's Eclipse Party Plans - Part 2

Less than 9 days'til par-tay time!  Yeah, that's right, I just spelled party "par-TAY".  That's just a little way for me to express how excited I am about this little shindig happening in LESS 9 DAYS...we're not even speaking in week terms anymore people!!!

Let's pick up where we left off last week, shall we?

FOOD.  The food can really be a fun way to keep your theme alive and draw your guests in to your party fantasy.  We decided on serving hot dogs.  It's not the most gourmet thing to serve, but it falls right into the "Fire" part of our theme...Bella eats hot dogs with Jacob at the bonfire...and Jacob is a HOTT dog...get it...HOTT dog.  LOL.  Ok, excuse my lame humor.  Anyhoo, we are having a hot dog bar in our "Fire" room.  We're serving Hebrew National Hot Dogs ('cause they're the best) and we're going to have all the different types of things to put on hot dogs...relish, chili, cheese, peppers, onions, sauerkraut, etc.  In our "Ice" room, we're going to set up our drink bar.  We're still working on having a shaved ice machine, but we know for sure that we are serving pomegranate martinis and Black Swan wine (Isn't that the most perfect name for a Twilight wine?!).  We had the Black Swan wine for our New Moon party and we loved it.  It's a good cheap wine.  For dessert, we are having some a custom Eclipse cake from a local cakery...chocolate with raspberry filling.  Other ideas for desserts are cupcakes with bite marks or claw marks, cookies with black icing and a red ribbon on the top, and Twizzlers/red vines are always good!

Our drink of choice - Oprah's pomegranate martini recipe (click for recipe)

SWAG BAGS.  I've always wanted to go to one of those big fancy celebrity events where the swag bags are worth thousands of dollars, so this is my way of living out my fantasy...on a much smaller scale of course. LOL.  Our bags for Eclipse are going to include:

  • *an embroidered tote bag with the Eclipse logo
  • *a handmade Bella bracelet
  • *a Fire and Ice bookmark
  • *a set of magnets
  • *a hand-picked CD w/ "hot" and "cold" songs
  • *Eclipse gum
  • *and possibly a copy of Wuthering Heights.
PARTY GAMES.  Every good party has them...don't be a fuddy-duddy...have some games!  I like to play games that allow my guest to continue to mingle, drink, eat...whatever.  So, we are going to play a quote game where our guests have to match up the quote to the person who said it.  Since the eyes are so important in the Twilight Saga, we're also going to play a match game with pictures of eyes...matching the eye to the character.  For New Moon, we played a pin the kiss on Edward and Jacob game.  It was a hit and so much fun!  We're going to do a new modified version of Pin the Kiss.  We are also going to play "What's In Your Future".  It's a numerology game...I think it's brings in a touch of Alice...I love Alice!

One of my favorite places to get awesome printable games is Twimom on Etsy.  She has a whole PDF file that is instantly yours for the small price of $8!  In the PDF file you will find party ideas, printable games, printable labels, printable invitations...possibilities are endless!
(Click HERE to go to Twimom's Etsy store)

You MUST have some prizes, even if it's a candy bar or bookmark.  Here's some ideas for you...things we're giving as prizes:

  • *a Bree Tanner book
  • *Eclipse cups
  • *Eclipse stickers
  • *Eclipse magnets
  • *Eclipse posters
A few extra ideas to make your party OFF THE HOOK:

  • *play the Eclipse soundtrack for background music
  • *set up a TV and play Twilight and New Moon prior to viewing Eclipse
  • *get the new Eclipse board game and set it up for guests to play
  • *have some trivia questions on hand for any down time
  • *set up a photo op spot
  • *roll out a red carpet for your guests
  • *have a fortune teller
  • *twinkle lights
  • *print out quotes from the book and frame them and set them around the room - my favorite   place to find FABULOUS printable quotes is The Hostess With The Mostess Blog - she has just announced that her Eclipse printables are coming soon!! Update:  THEY'RE posted and they are FABULOUS!!! Thank you, Hostess with the Mostess...you read my mind!  (click HERE to go to her blog)

Eclipse Party Plans

So, this is actually a repost from my guest post on Trixie and Tess last Friday.  The only thing different is that I have added some links to some of the websites I've used.  I thought that some of you who venture over to my blog from other sites looking at New Moon Party stuff might be interested in my new Eclipse Party Plans.

I'm planning this party with my cousin Allison.  Let me tell you, it has been an absolute BLAST!  We make such a great pair and we just get each other.  It has been so fun having someone to bounce ideas off of.  Without further ado...Allison and Jenny's Fire and Ice Party...

First things first, we set a theme for our party.  We had several ideas running through our heads.  We had talked about throwing a graduation party, like Alice threw for Bella, but that left out a few elements we wanted to include (like the wolf pack), but it would be a great theme for an Eclipse party.  The New Moon party I threw last year was a "Fangs or Fur" party.  That would still be a legit theme for an Eclipse Party. The theme we picked for our party is "Fire and Ice".  There are tons of great ideas.  So, just pick something and stick with it.  It helps to give your party continuity.

Invitations really set the mood for your party.  We went through several ideas.  We had thought about creating our own, something that possibly worked in the Fire and Ice poem by Robert Frost.  In the end, we decided that we wanted to throw in a little Alice into our party, so we went with a graduation party invite.  (We purchased the ones below from Vista Print and they were super cheap @ www.vistaprint.com. There are also some great hand-made invites on Etsy @ www.etsy.com and just search for Eclipse Invites)

RSVP to Alice Cullen, of course!

Location is huge.  You have to know what area you're looking at before you decide on decorations.  Since we are throwing a premiere party, we are having our pre and post party at a hotel.  It's a nice choice with a blank slate.

You may choose your home or a friends house or even a restaurant would be a good choice.

Decorations are my favorite part of throwing a party!  Here is an inspiration board for our party, so you can get an idea about what I'm talking about.  (a lot of our party essentials like balloons, table cloths, confetti, and other fun add-ins were purchased through Oriental Trading Company @ www.orientaltrading.com and now you can purchase Eclipse Party Ware from Birthday Direct @ www.birthdaydirect.com)

We have had sooooo much fun deciding on the decor. Although, being at a hotel does limit us somewhat, it is still tons of fun!  We have two hotel rooms.  We requested joining king suites.  This is what I did for the New Moon Premiere party and it worked out great!  We are making one room our "Fire" Room and one our "Ice" Room.
In the Fire Room, we are using lots of red...red tablecloths, red paper lanterns, twinkle lights, a La Push sign for the door...and we'll incorporate several wolf pack pictures, framed quotes, and odds-and-ends.
In the Ice Room, we are using silver...silver tablecloths, silver paper lanterns, twinkle lights, and a Forks sign on our door.  We will also have lots of Cullen stuff, like framed quotes and pictures...anything that says "ice".  Last year I hung up New Moon posters over the pre-hung pictures on the hotel walls.  I'll probably do the same this time.

Of course, our party wouldn't be complete without a life size Edward and Jacob there to greet our guests and our piece de la resistance a tent pitched in the middle of the "Ice" room.  We plan on putting a little lantern outside of the tent, with a parka hanging from the post.  We're going to create a couple different photo ops.  To add to the ambiance, we thought we would up the A/C in the "Ice" room and turn up the heat in the "Fire" room.

Sound fun?  I haven't told the whole story.  I have blog readers who might venture over here that are invited to the party and I want to keep a couple elements of surprise!  Do you have plans for an Eclipse Party at some point...premiere party, movie party, DVD release party?  Any ideas you would like to add?  Tell me in the comments section or e-mail me at jennykate77@yahoo.com!  I would love to hear it all!

I'll be back next Friday with the details on the food, party games, swag bags, and links to some of my go-to party planning sites!

Eclipse Sneek Peek

Have you seen this 2 minute sneek peek of Eclipse?

This gets me so pumped for the movie...and I can't wait to see the 8 minute clip that is on the New Moon DVD deluxe edition from Wal-Mart!  So excited!  However, I'm trying to pull myself back from the edge a little.  I don't want to know too much.  I still want to be surprised and experience Eclipse for the first time on the big screen.  With New Moon, I felt like I had practically seen the movie before it ever came out, because I had watched so many trailers and teasers and behind the scenes footage.

A few things that bring me great delight:
  • Jasper's hair...looks soooooo much better than New Moon!
  • Rosalie's hair...looks 10 times better than Twilight and New Moon put together.
  • Seeing the newborn vampires...lots of action in this 3rd movie and it's going to be thrilling to watch!
  • The sets/scenes look phenomenal
  • Edward and Jacob's level of hottness...can I get an AMEN up in this blog?!
  • I can't wait to see what David Slade brings to the Saga!
Don't forget to go and enter my giveaway (sorry, Mimi...I forgot I was supposed to keep it on the down low.)  Click HERE to enter.  Who is going to pick up their New Moon DVD at midnight Friday night?? (besides me)  I might have another giveaway coming up next week and it might have to do with said New Moon DVD.  Stay tuned.

Thank You, Summit!

Summit has announced that the first official Eclipse teaser trailer will run before Remember Me.
~
I don't know about you guys, but that makes me uber happy.  An Eclipse trailer and seeing Rob in Remember Me in one night, that's so flippin' exciting!
~
March is like starting the down hill slope to Eclipse.  First, the trailer and Remember Me on March 12.  Then, the New Moon DVD release the next week.  I'm sure after that they will start putting out Eclipse merchandise and marketing for the movie.  Before you know it I'll be making post about the Eclipse party plans, which by the way, have already started.  I like to refer to it as "Jenny and Allison's Excellent Eclipse Party".
~
One last note, did everyone see the leaked Eclipse stills?  Apparently, Summit had not authorized for them to be released...so, they were removed from most sights faster than the speed of Edward.  But, let me tell you...they were HOTT!  Eclipse is going to be Ah-MAZING!  I have them saved to my phone, but can't figure out how to save them to my computer wouldn't want to post pictures without permission. {if you haven't seen them and really wanted to see them, you could e-mail me and i might be able to hook you up.}

So, although Summit took back the yummy pictures, they're still on my good side for announcing that the Eclipse trailer is COMING SOON!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!

Happy Birthday to One HOTT Warewolf!

So, it's official, Jacob is no longer jail-bait! I know this will make a few of my bloggy (and non-bloggy) friends VERY happy! It's nice to know that we can legally drool over his ripped non-shirted chest. I pray that he never finds his shirt again...ever. I was trying to think of a good way to celebrate...going shirtless? nah. phasing? don't have the right genes. sitting in a HOT 108 degrees sauna so that I can pretend that Jacob is in the room? possibly. eating some muffins? good possibility. I was thinking that I could share with you some of my fav Jacob stills from New Moon and a few of my favorite Jacob quotes from the books.

"I’m not good enough to be your friend anymore, or anything else. I’m not what I was before. I’m not good."

"Sometimes, loyalty gets in the way of what you want to do. Sometimes, it’s not your secret to tell."

"Look, do you mind saving the stupid stuff for when I’m around? I won’t be able to concentrate if I think you’re jumping off cliffs behind my back."

"Hunting vampires is fun. It’s the best part of this whole mess."

"Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf?"

"Did you seriously just stamp your foot? I thought girls only did that on TV."

"Does my being half-naked bother you?"

"You love me, too. Not the same way, I know. But he’s not your whole life, either. Not anymore. Maybe he was once, but he left. And now he’s just going to have to deal with the consequence of that choice — me."

...and for later down the road...this is one of my many favorite lines from Breaking Dawn, as Jacob has so many great lines in the last couple books...my heart was happy during this part that's why it's one of my all-time favs...
"Bella, things are different with us now, but you’ll always be my best friend, and I’ll always love you. But I’ll love you the right way now. There’s finally a balance. We both have people we can’t live without."

Happy Birthday, Jacob...er, I mean, Taylor!

Do you have a favorite Jacob line you'd like to share?

Tuesday Twilight Saga Update

This is a very exciting TTSU because we are officially ONLY ONE MONTH AWAY from the premiere of New Moon! WOOT!

I'm thinking up some good ideas for some bloggy fun in the next few weeks. I do my best work in the shower and while standing in the shower the other day I started to put my plan together...so stay tuned. I'll be making another post soon with details.

There is a NEW New Moon clip on iTunes (available for free download today!)

Here it is...

How's that for some wolf pack action?! I LOVE it! ( you probably already knew I was going to say that...I'm becoming so predictable)

The soundtrack is out...what do you guys think? I know that I'll love it more when I can connect the songs to the scenes in the movie. Right now my favorite songs are...
  1. Death Cab For Cutie - "Meet Me On The Equinox"
  2. Anya Marina - "Satellite Heart"
  3. The very last song on the CD, but I can't remember the artist, I believe the song is titled "New Moon" (The Meadow), no lyrics, just piano...it's beautiful.
I'm such a dork (like I needed to tell you guys that)...but as I listen to these songs I try to imagine what scene they go with...anybody else do that? I love Satellite Heart. I think it has the perfect mood for the movie. Something about it makes me think that it will be somewhere in the scenes where Bella is in her deep dark depression after Edward leaves. I think Meet Me On The Equinox might be in one of the Italy scenes or possibly when Alice comes to Bella and they get on the plane to go save Edward...oooo, or maybe it's when Bella is going cliff-diving...maybe it's like Bella wanting to meet Edward and the only way she can see him is when she does reckless dangerous things? Hmmm. What do you guys think?

Eclipse News - Peter Facinelli said on his Twitter account that Eclipse is in its LAST week of filming! (@peterfacinelli - Back in Vancouver. Coming down the home stretch. 1 more week to go on Eclipse.
from Tweetie )Can you believe that? The awesome thing is that we won't have to wait a WHOLE YEAR from now to see Eclipse! It'll be out in June 2010. What I don't like is that there isn't much talk of Breaking Dawn...and I WANT BREAKING DAWN! Hopefully after Eclipse goes into post-production we'll start hearing more about the last movie.

Hope you guys are having a great week so far! *loves*

Tuesday Twilight Saga Update

Oh, girls (and guys...if there are any of you who actually read all this Twilight mumbo-jumbo)...the closer it gets to November, the more excited I get! Now they have all this talk around on the net about Eclipse...and the set and cast and filming...it's just crazy! I almost can't keep up with it all...I said almost. Here are a few of my favorite Twilight Topics from the web during the past week:

  • One of my biggest dilemmas lately is WHAT TO WEAR to the opening night of New Moon! Should I wear "New Moon" garb? Red and black something-or-another? Something cute and flippy like an "Alice dress"? Well, whatever I choose, it will NOT be Pattinson Pants - OMG!

  • If you feel like putting pictures of Robert Pattinson or any other actor/actress in Twilight all over a pair of 80's stone-washed jeans, PLEASE lie down until the feeling passes.
    FAIL!

  • Eclipse set pics - all of wolf pack is on set! Check them out here - http://www.eclipsemovie.org/

  • Have you guys see Lip Venom - Twilight Lip Venom or Moon Venom - follow those links to Amazon.com they have the whole line! I so need some of that!

  • I went last week to Walgreen's to pick up a couple of prescriptions for Isaiah and they have New Moon Candy and New Moon Halloween cards! (Plus candy blood in a bag, and blood lollipops...they're really playing the vampire card!) You know I bought one! OK, more than one.

  • I bought this @ Target...

I realize the pages inside are the same as the original...(thank you to my mother for pointing that out.) BUT I had to have the movie cover. So HOTT! Love it!

  • I had read rumors that New Moon would premier on a new moon and Eclipse would premier the night of an eclipse...how cool would that be?! I did some research...AND Wikipedia says "A partial lunar eclipse will take place on June 26, 2010, the first of two lunar eclipses in 2010. The second will be a total eclipse on December 21, 2010." Also, according to USNO the next new moon is on November 16, 2009. SO, when are the premiers? According to newmoonmovie.org...NOVEMBER 16! So cool! I couldn't find an exact date as to when the premiere of Eclipse will be, but I'm guessing that it'll be right on target for the lunar eclipse on June 26, because it will come out in theaters on June 30, 2010! I think that is a very clever marketing strategy. Love it!

I'll be back again next Tuesday with more Twilight talk. =)

For more Twilight talk any day of the week, go to some of my favorite sites:

Hope everyone is have a terrific Tuesday!
