A New Valentine's Day Tradition

Due to my lack of motivation and just down right laziness, my Christmas tree is still in the corner of my living room.

You wanna know what?  I'm not even trying to hide it...it's actually still in view from my living room window.  I could turn the lights on and we could sit around and sing "Santa Clause is Coming To Town".  Just 10 more months.

In an effort to avoid any more awkwardness of the Christmas tree still being up in February, I did what any person would do...

I undressed it and changed it's outfit.

Introducing the Altman Family 2011 Valentine's Day Tree...

Thank you to all of my wonderful commenters for your support and encouragement.  This would not be possible without you.

My husband might be sending you hate mail.

  1. One year when we were in the USMC, we couldn't get home for Christmas like we were supposed to. We came home for Valentines Day and this is exactly what my grandma did with her Christmas tree. I love it! It makes my heart happy to remember that time. :-)

  2. Tell your husband if he wants the tree to disappear, he has to stop harboring the spirit of Scrooge! I think your tree is very cute--I'm looking forward to the Easter version!

  4. I love it! I told Matthew you were considering doing that and he was just happy someone else had their Christmas tree up longer than we did. :)

Dominic wants to cut out "hundreds" of hearts and put them "everywhere in our house" -- he declared that at dinner last night. Matthew choked on his peas. :) We normally don't really celebrate VD. Dominic is highly motivated by VDay for some reason. Chocolate maybe?

  5. Um. Yeah. About that. Tell that man to get on the horn next year and take that mess down.

Then again that rivals my laziness as we use the treadmill in our bedroom to throw our dirty clothes onto.

  8. I think it's cute. I wanted to get a pink tree this year and keep it up through Valentine's Day but the hubby said no. Next year, I think I'll just get one. He'll get over it.

  11. I actually think it's a great idea to keep it up year round and just decorate it with the change of seasons.

  16. Oh I love your tree!
My first thought, though, was that it took some time and energy to do that and... um... it might have been easier to put the tree away! lol.
