Here's the deal pickle. My big boss decided that our accounting server needed to be merged with the main office server. Along with that comes a whole bunch of shiz that makes a sadz sadz JennyKate (yea, I'm referring to myself in the 3rd person...all the cool people do it). He also dropped the bomb that we could no longer store personal information on our work computers AND there would be a new program loaded to the server that would track the activities of each employee. Meaning, at any time during the day, he will be able to know if we're working in work related programs or surfing the Internet or looking at porn or tweeting or blogging...etc, etc. I swear I almost had a heart attack at the staff meeting.

From the first day that I ever blogged, I've always done so from work. I started my blog from work...it's my main place to blog from still today. We all know that I haven't been the world's best blogger anyway and now what the hellz am I supposed to do now??

Connie (from The Young and Relentless <---typing all of that because I have no clue how to link a blog from this thing) told me about the Blogger app for the iPhone, so that's what I'm attempting now. I have a personal computer, just not a lot of time at home to use it. So, we'll see how this goes. I'm going to post a picture just to play around with some of the functions. You'll probably get some wonky posts from me the first few times. AND you'll have to excuse any spelling and grammatical errors. I'm sure I'll make plenty typing from the iPhone. Forks 2011 - PSA

Since people are wondering if I was bit by Edward and now living in the PNW as Bella's Sister-Wife, I thought I should stop by and say I survived Forks...or Forks survived me. I don't know which, but I'm back...and sorting through my 569 photos of my #FORKS2011 trip. I'm trying to decide how to post them and give you guys the full story without boring you to death with a major pic spam. So, I've decided to break them up into several blog posts. This first one consists of pictures from my iPhone. We all know that the real story is on the iPhone. You take pics with your iPhone (or other smart phone) that you wouldn't/didn't/shouldn't/couldn't take with your regular camera.

Think of these next few pictures as my personal Public Service Announcement for traveling to Forks.

Plan to *squeeeeee* a lot at road signs. I don't know what it is...just the tangible fact that you're in the land of Twitardia or what, but it initiates this frenzy...you really lose all control.

Go to Sully's. They give you fangs with your Bella Burger and/or your Twilight Punch. BUT be careful. Fangs lead to hours of ridiculousness...and you could get black listed at Sully's. I'm guess mine and Jiff's names are on there..."those that shall never be allowed to dine here again...from henceforth..." or something like that.

Frisking is what? Good. Right. Do it. LOTS. And document it. You'll thank yourself later. And the weird dude in the parking lot will thank you too. I was wondering if perhaps they have a surveillance camera set up to catch all the shenanigans that take place in the parking lot of the Forks Chamber of Commerce?

Go to the Cullen House...right next door to the Chamber of Commerce, if for nothing else than to participate in more shenanigans in Carlisle's Office...and take cheesy pictures in front of the graduation caps. And the dude that runs the joint is really nice...and they have a pretty white kitty (so, heads up if you're allergic).

EVERYONE capitalizes on Steph's little story...and I mean EVERYONE...from the Forks Hospital to the little shack that sells firewood on your way out of town (Twilight Firewood...really?! I highly doubt it was called that prior to 2008.)

Re-enact as many scenes as possible. Come on. When else will you be able to just walk to the edge of a forest with a cardboard Edward and say "say it...out loud" and your friends just laugh hysterically with you?! Let me tell you. NEVER. So, take advantage of your location.

(while watching Twilight in our motel room that morning, we decided that this is how the "Distract Me" scene should have went down.)

If you run across a wooden lumberjack in the Forks Motel parking lot, it is NOT mounted properly. Leg hitch with caution...especially while intoxicated.

Don't poop in The Hoh. It's frowned upon.

Wherever you are...driving down the 101, venturing out into the Olympic National Forest, cruising through La Push...HONK FOR DEER. It's crucial.

We've found that they are quite lethargic and just asking to be hit. So, do your good deed for the day and save a deers life. It could be Edward's next meal.

This concludes my PSA for today.

No Pocket Edwards or deer were harmed during these events. However, a wooden lumberjack may be a tad bit more unstable.

Talking About Forks

The purpose of the meme is really simple...just talk...about whatever. Easy-peasy-japanesy, right?!

I figure I'll just use these link-ups to tell you what's on my mind...which could be scary, or weird, or annoying, or (a combination of all three) about sparkly vampires...

Speaking of sparkly vampires, have I told you I'm going to Forks, WA? If you ask me what's in Forks, WA, I'll slap you...right through this computer. Don't look at me like that. I'm serious. If you don't know, you can Google it. Then come back and we'll have a nice normal conversation about a lovely place called Forks where sparkly vampires roam.

*day dream with me for a moment*

You guys do realize that I fully expect to have an encounter with Edward...and you do realize how much comforting and consoling I'm going to need if I don't get that right? So, keep your calendars open for October 2nd at 9:55pm...that's when my plane lands back in Tulsa.

I'm going on another crazy trip where I don't know anybody in real life, except for my travel buddy, Twitter friend turned Twitard bestie, Jiff Simpson. We're meeting up with a whole slew of Twitards in Seattle. A lot of them we've met through blogging and Twitter, but we've never met any of them in person. Fortunately, I've had several of these types of meet-ups and I've always had an amazing time, so I'm stoked...to say the least.

I leave in 15 days!! I could probably tell you the hours, minutes and seconds...but I won't bore you with details. It's like a pilgrimage to the Promise Land. I have a check-list a mile long of pictures I MUST take and things I MUST do, but more than anything I hope time slows WAY down the minute I step off that plane in Seattle, so I can enjoy it and soak it all in...and give myself the best chance at ~~shagging~~ snagging a sparkly vampire while I'm there.

Hey, don't look at me like that. Edward is on my Freebie List!

A few months ago, I wrote a post titled "My Mother Is On Facebook". In the post, I laid out some Facebook rules and regulations for the somewhat older crowd. I've spent quite a bit of time on "The Facebook" in my days, so I feel fairly educated and somewhat of a "professional"...completely certified to give a little advice.

So, recently, I dealt out a little bit of that advice to a certain someone on Impulsive's Facebook page. This guy is an old HS friend of ours and he's new to the social networking world...apparently he's been living in a van...down by the river...and I'm not even trying to be funny.

We tried to be welcoming to him at first, and by welcoming, I mean we made fun of him openly where all of our mutual friends could point and laugh. What?! Everyone should be initiated. It's only fair.

After a couple of inappropriate Wall Posts, I felt it necessary to set him straight...tell him how the cow eats the cabbage...put him on the Facebook straight and narrow. Besides, the last Wall Post was on my girl Impulsive's profile and I like to watch out for my friends.

This is how the conversation went down. Names have been changed to protect the innocent...or the guilty, whichever.

Calling Betty Ford

Remember when I used to blog all the time and I had friends...and I got comments and left them comments. We even would communicate through email...remember? Yeah, those were the days.

Well, I would love to get back to those days and I'm trying. Deep down in my heart I'm REALLY trying. I think about you guys all the time and I think about a MILLION things I'd like to blog about...well, OK, maybe not a million, but a lot...like at least 100 or 50.

So, this is my effort to get back to blogging. I'm here. And I'm posting. And maybe you'll comment and maybe I'll visit you and comment...and maybe, just MAYBE I'll get all adventurous and respond to your comment in an email...maybe.

Last week, a couple of my blogger friends who still associate with me, even though I'm not a very good blogger anymore, challenged me to go "unplugged" for 8 hours...EIGHT HOURS. That's eight hours with no iPhone. Eight hours without tweeting, facebooking, emailing, or playing games.

You don't really know how addicted you are to those things until you go without. Let me tell you, I'm addicted...A-D-D-I-C-T-E-D.

"Betty Ford, how can I help you?"

"Uh, yes...I'd like to check myself in."

So, along with Impulsive, Connie and a few other bloggers; I unplugged.

This is what happened whilst I was not plugged in:

Around 3:15 I went into a comatose state. I finally came back to consciousness around 4:01. The feeling of knowing that I was plugged back in was glorious. I can't describe it...it was like being under water and thinking you weren't going to make it back to the top...and you start swimming feverishly...moving your arms and your legs in rapid motion...your life starts to flash before you...you feel your lungs tightening under the pressure from the lack of oxygen...it's really touch and go...and THEN finally, you break the surface of the water and you take a deep cleansing breath and realize you made it. Yeah, it was kinda like that, except a tad less dramatic...maybe.

A note to Impulsive and Connie: I'm not signing up for this again. Next time you guys get a wild hair to go back to 1995 and cut out all social interaction, count me out...unless I can save a starving child in Africa or something equally noble.

Today, I'm linking up with her Friday meme over at R We There Yet Mom? called Friday Daydreamin'. It's just a post where you daydream about where you wish you were...and post a favorite vacation picture! Sounds fun, right?!

The picture below is from a trip we took to Colorado a couple of years ago. I'm definitely daydreamin' about being here...

My toes were in the icy waters of Jenny Lake up in the Colorado Rockies. I think it was a balmy 70-something degrees the day we were there...ahhhhhh, 70 degree days. I sorta remember those.

We've had so many 100+ days, it's ridiculous!! The temps have kinda gone to my head. I blame all sorts of things on the weather...bad hair, no make-up, crabby, bitchy, no cooking dinner...sleeping in the nude. You really can get away with a lot. Nobody seems to question you much.

Hopefully, we have some cooler days ahead, but for now, I'm just gonna kick my feet up on my desk and daydream about those cool waters of Jenny Lake...

That is until my boss comes in and busts me. I'll tell her the heat was getting to me and I felt faint.

It's Hotter Than Hell

Yesterday, our actual temperature in Tulsa was 116 degrees. You read that right...ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN DEGREES. People were frying eggs on sidewalks and baking cookies in their cars, which by the way were completely baked in 3 hours. Seriously. (sofa king hot)

I posted my Okie Housewife Triple Digit Temp Survival Tips over at The RHOK today. This will be my last post at The RHOK, so stop by and visit me! Tell me how you're surviving this heat wave...got any tips/tricks of your own?

Now, What Was I Going To Say?

I swear I was just thinking of something clever to post...and then I get here and I can't think of anything. Shows how off my game I am. I think I used to have something I regularly posted on Thursdays, but for the life of me I can not remember.

I knew if I waited too long to make another blog post, Connie would be cutting me from her A List. I just can't let that happen. I don't have many things going for me these days, so being on Connie's A List is verah important.

You guys probably talk about me when I'm not here, huh? Am I ruining your fun by stopping in and posting? You might need to confess that tomorrow, mmmkay? It's not nice to talk about people. You know where you go for that, right? Coweta. Just ask Becca.

So, let's just chat, shall we? What have you been up to? Me? Oh, I've just been workin' and redecorating my office. The painters came and painted my office one day while I was out and they just piled all of my precious Twilight memorabilia in one heaping stack on my desk. I went into a mild-to-moderate panic attack and had to grab my spare paper bag from under my desk. So, I just got around to putting everything back in it's rightful spot this week.

The boss said she didn't want any "inappropriate posters" in plain view...so I got sneaky and put my Rob posters behind the door...and on the side of my filing cabinet.

I confess that I proposed to Joey at the NKOTBSB concert. If you're up for another video, you should watch this because it's full of epicness...Joey Mc upclose and personal, me and IA fangirling over him, my proposal, and my declaration of love. It's good stuff.

My husband told me that I should take the video off of Facebook because it's "ridiculous and embarrassing". I told him he knew what he was getting into when he married me...we should have worked "I promise to love you even when you're ridiculous and embarrassing" into our vows.

I have TONS more to confess, but this is getting lengthy, so I'll save it for another day. Happy Friday!♥

I'm At The RHOK

I know, I know. You think I've fallen off the face of the earth...or been abducted by aliens...

I swear I'm still here. I'm still lurking on your blogs. I haven't commented and I feel horrible. I miss you guys so much.

In case you didn't know, my Granny passed away last Saturday and it has been one of the hardest things I've had to deal with. I miss her so much. The world just doesn't seem right without her. My whole 33 years, she's been my constant and my the person I turn to in every situation. So, it's an adjustment. I know she is in a better place and she's with my Grandpa, where she's wanted to be since he passed away last August. I find peace and comfort in that. I really and truly appreciate each and every one of you who have left sweet comments on my Facebook page, Twitter, and sent emails. You girls are the best.

I'm slowly coming out of my blogging funk...being forced out of it today to post over at The RHOK.

Friday Confessional : Cuss Word Edition

I confess...this one time, at band camp. Ok, alright. I never went to band camp. BUT I did go to cheerleading camp...and this one time I mooned someone from the 10th floor window. AND then my roommate and I made a poster with our phone number (to our dorm room) and taped it in the window. There was also a football camp going on at the same time...*achem* boys roomed in the dorms opposite ours. Need I say more?

I confess...this one time, when I was 5, I told my Sunday School teacher that my Grandpa and I used "little bastards" for bait when we went fishing. She asked!

I confess...that last weekend, I got paid back for my indiscretion. Isaiah was chasing his cousin around the back yard and he yelled out "come back here you little bastard". Super. #payingformyraising

I confess...that in a moment of heated frustration I cussed (like a bad cuss word) at Michael. He started laughing uncontrollably, which increased my disdane. When the tears cleared, he told me that I'm a bad "cusser"...like I don't know how. WHATEV, Michael.

I confess...since we're talking about cuss words (how did that happen?? I swear I didn't start this out with the intention of writing a whole post about cussing.), I should confess that I like to use made up cuss words. For example, "holy shiz", "hellz no", and the mother of all made up cuss words (that is not APPROPRIATE in any way, shape, or form...but I use WAY TOO often) "sofa king"...go ahead, say it...out loud (<---Twi reference, if you got it.) It's bad, right?!...but sofa king funny. (I did NOT just say that).

What is wrong with me?!

I'm going to hellz.

I need to repent.

Oh, wait that's right.

I just confessed.

Ok, it's all good.

1. Everyone seems to have a quirky family situation-- what is something unique about your family dynamic?

I guess what's unique about my family is that I am my mother's only child, but I have 3 half-siblings and 2 step-siblings. Also, both mine and Michael's moms are twins...kinda crazy, huh?

2. What is the most stressful aspect to blogging (aside from the network going down)?

Comments. Commenting...replying to comments...making the rounds. It gets stressful sometimes keeping up with it all and then you do what I do and just become a total blog fail for a while.

3. We all end up on a blog at some point in our day, but name your top 3 favorite websites you flock to daily (non blog)!

I'm a Libra.

Friday Confessional : The Austin Edition

I'm linking up today with Mamazrazzi for Friday Confessional. 'Cause Lord knows I need to! There's a few things from my trip to Austin that I need to get off my chest and what better time to do it than Friday Confessions. Remember, nothing said in this post can be held against me at any time.

This one time...in Austin, I laid down on a couch in a gay bar. Thank goodness for friends like Becca who remind you what someones might have done there...and for Germ-X...and for knowing how to sing the Happy Birthday song twice to get your hands extra clean.
Also, this one time...in Austin, I walked around downtown without any shoes on. Impulsive forced me to wash my feet in the bathtub before sleeping in the same bed with her. She even called Shawn for some back-up. Thank goodness for friends who make you wash your feet.

ALSO, this one time...in Austin, Vivienne gave me the 'mom look' and tried to make me wear my seatbelt in the back back seat of Becca's van. It worked on Impuslive, but not me. I'm a rebel like that. But thank goodness for friend who care enough to give you the 'mom look'.

AND this one time...in Austin, I woke up at 5:30 in the morning and I was laying on the floor inbetween the two beds where Impulsive and Becca were fast asleep...with my phone smashed to my face. If you got a text and/or tweet that night/morning, I apologize.
This one time...in Austin, I told our waiter that he looked like a porn star. Then I proceeded to tell him it was due to his "phonytail" and "9th grade mustache"...AND I called him "Jake the Pornstar" from then on.
This one time...in Austin, I autographed someone's chest with a blue sharpie. Sorry, Shawn.
I kissed a girl(s)...
One last thing...this one time...in Austin, I met some AMAZING people who are now my REAL LIFE friends...it was one of the best weekends EVER.

We decided to write down the funny comments that were said and turn them into a contest for all of our readers. The winner will receive Austin souvenirs, picked out by all six of us.
The contest is very easy. Below you will find six quotes. Match up the quote with who you think said it. For example, if you think blogger A was the person who said quote #4, your answer is A=4. Leave your match-ups for A-F in ONE comment.

We Want To Know Wednesday : Musts

This week, Shawn came up with these fabulous "MUST" questions:

1.} What must you do before you go to bed at night? I MUST take my make-up off and brush my teeth, AND I must read on my Kindle or iPhone. I can't go to sleep until I do...it's like a soothing lullaby.

2.} What is one thing you must snack on at the theater? Um, not really any MUSTS, but I do love Hot Tamales!

3.} Before going on vacation what must you do? I MUST have a clean house. I HATE coming home from vacay to a dirty house. Not happening!

4.} What is one thing you must do every day? So many things...um, where to start? I don't know how to pick just one. Pray, drink coffee, interact in social networks, give Isaiah lots of hugs and kisses, laugh (TOTAL MUST), be a dork ('cause I can't help myself), take vitamins, call my granny...

5.} Is there something you do that must be done in a particular order? Yeah, lots of things, but I'll use showering for example...I always always always start with my hair, shampoo it, wash my face, rinse my hair and my face all at the same time, put conditioner in my hair, lather up, wash, shave, and then rinse my hair and everything else. I confess that there was a creepy repair guy fixing our air conditioner at our office last week and he kept staring at me. So, I did this.

Worked like a charm. Problem solved. Full-size Edward has SO many uses.

He fixed our A/C in record time.

I confess that every time I see the Magnum Ice Cream commercial I think of condoms. Do you think that was the marketing strategy they were going for?

I confess that while you're reading this, I'm roadtrippin' with Impulsive and we're on our way to meet up with Seriously Shawn, Becca from The Texas Darlings, Vivienne from The V Spot, and Jen from Harried Mom of 4! I really can't put into words just HOW excited I am to be meeting all of these lovelies in PERSON. Seriously. It's too much. Hmmm...I think I would do pretty good on the Singing Bee, as long as they stick to 90's hip-hop/rap, hairbands, and country.

2. Do you have a tattoo(s)? What are they and what made you chose them? If not, would you get one, yes/no/why?

Holy shiz. This is where I lose followers.

Wellllll...yes, I have tattoos. 3 of them. They are:
1. A cresent moon and two stars on my left foot. A blue star for Michael (his birthstone is a sapphire) and a red star for Isaiah (his birthstone is a garnet)

2. The phrase "frequently dazzled" with an apple and "sparkles" on my left side (on my rib area)...the saying is from Twilight and the apple of course is also from Twilight...and the sparkles are...um, well...from the sparkly vampires of Twilight.

3. A Mockingjay on my back between my shoulder blades...the Mockingjay is a fictional bird from the Hunger Games Trilogy. If you wanna read more about why I picked it, you can read THIS.

3. What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?

My wedding ring. It's the piece of jewelry I've had the longest. I don't buy expensive jewelry, so it's the most valuable thing I wear.

BUT I also really love this cuff bracelet and I wear it more than I should.

4. What is your driving pet peeve(s)?

People driving slow in the fast lane. Pisses me off.

5. What was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?

From the 80's - The Cosby Show. Bill is hilarious.

From the 90's - Seinfeld. We still watch the re-runs and used to have every episode recorded to VHS tapes.

Things have been a little stressful in my neck of the woods.

My Granny is in the hospital and I've been staring at a lot of white walls lately. (prayers appreciated)

But last week, I was out at lunch and caught this on my iPhone...

Do you see the gaggle of geese? I think they were wanting a Big Mac and a few Happy Meals. I tried to get closer, but the one leading the pack hissed at me. I took that as my cue to mind my own biznass.

Being the (wannabe) gangsta that I am...I've had some brushes with the law lately. I'm here to confess.

I confess that while out running errands for the office the other day I was feeling a little spunky. The sun was shining. I was wearing some CA-ute new sandles. Warren G was pumpin' through my speakers. loudly. I had my window rolled down and I was sitting at the stop light. There was a cop sitting in the QT parking lot across from me and I looked at him and did this...

I confess that as I pulled away from the stop light I kinda expected him to pull out behind me and pull me over, but he didn't.

I confess that I WAS pulled over the other day for driving like a Cullen. 87 in a 75. That's not so bad, right? AND my tag was expired. Ooops. I didn't know. I'm serious. He let me go with a warning. Whew.

If money didn't matter, where would your perfect vacation take place? Briefly describe. Hmmm...a European Vacation. Not like the Griswold's, but like JennyKate's European Vacation. I would need a few weeks and I would rent a yacht and travel around the coast of France. Perhaps, travel into Italy and visit the location where they filmed the Volturi/Italy scenes for New Moon. Take a train to London and buy some old books. Stop by Ireland and hang out in a pub for a day or two.
2. What's a bad habit that you have {or ha} that is/was hard to break? being a fatty. hard habit to break.

3. If you weren't on a diet or counting calories, what would you like to have for dinner tonight? a big HEAPING bowl of pasta with alfredo sauce and LOTS of parmesean cheese...and some bread...and a slice of cheesecake...and a captain and coke.

4. If you had the chance to interview anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and what's one question that you would ask? Rob. Duh. I would ask him if he was free for the night. ;)

Here I am, the one-trick-pony, once again surfacing in the blogosphere to link up with the one and only Mamarazzi for her Friday Confessional!

No preliminaries, just confessions...

I confess that I misbehaved in the theater last Friday night while watching Water For Elephants.

I confess that everytime Michael refers to Water For Elephants as Water For Donkeys I get irate! Like I wanna scratch his eyeballs out. He does it just to piss me off and get me all riled up. He knows how to push my buttons.

I confess that I might have peed my pants in the parking lot of Abuelo's. Just a little.

I confess that I laugh at inappropriate times. Often. The more I try to stop, the more I laugh. I also do other inappropriate things that we won't discuss on the blog. Today.

I confess that I'm just a little excited (ok, a lot) about the season premiere of Jerseylicious! Love those hookers!

I confess that I have a crush on Scotty and I'm glad he didn't go home last night on AI. Whew. That was close. I've gotta up my voting game. Who's your fav?

I'm becoming a one trick pony. I'll try to rectify that. ~~After I finish my next fan fic.~~ Soon.

On with the show...

1.} What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Are you an eyes or a smile person? Maybe another body part?

Welllllll, I think I notice eyes first...and then I scan down to check out other parts *achem*...then I eventually make my way back up to their eyes...and jaw line...and hair. I love good hair.

2.} If a movie was being made about you, who would you like to see cast to play you? And would your movie be a comedy, drama, romantic-comedy, action film or a horror movie?

I think I would like Sara Rue to play me...she's quirky and funny and a natural redhead.

It would definitely be a comedy w/ a romantic flair.

3.} Does your high school yearbook include a senior comment section? If so, share what you said about your future goals. Have you met those goals? If you do not have a yearbook, just share what your goals were when you were 18 and if you have met them. If you’re brave enough, include your Senior picture!

So, this was funny to look back on. You kinda forget what your 18 year old self was thinking back then...makes me laugh.

My goals were...and I quote..."Attend Southwestern A/G University or OU and major in psychology or education (apparently I like to leave myself with options), wait for Alan to get back (<----I totally forgot about this guy...'til yesterday), and see what happens! "

In case you're wondering, Alan was my (much older) boyfriend, who lived in Norman (where I went to school at OU and majored in Elem Education). I had met him the summer between my Jr and Sr year. I was head-over-heels for him, but turns out he was a womanizer/girlanizer. We were ova about a month after school started. Note to 18 year old self: You shoulda dumped him WAY before then. Your senior year would have been a LOT more fun.

4.} What latest trend simply baffles you?

I'm not really into the rompers...I thought those went out of style when we were 5?!

5.} When you walk into a room how do you present yourself? Do you walk in with confidence and command the attention of others or do you slink in and do your best to go unnoticed?

I think I try to blend...unless it's my party, then of course, I feel in control. Otherwise, I usually just try to mingle with people I know until I get acquainted with any new people.

This should be a fun mid-week meme...hopefully keeping me out of hiatus status, so I stay off of Impulsive's "big trouble" list. Yep, my friends are beautiful. Wanna hear about them? Here it goes...

IA, M, S, and J asked us to answer these Q's about our friends:

Do you make friends easily? Um, yeah. I think I do. I'm social and pretty easy to get along with. I seem to have friends from every area/era of my life, so I think that equates to making friends easy.
What 3 qualities are a MUST in a friend? 1 - honesty/trust. You just can't have a good solid friendship without that. 2 - humor/fun. I am a fun-haver...and I love to laugh, so if we can't do those things, our friendship is likely to be short-lived. 3 - common interests. Let's face it without things to talk about or things to enjoy together, can you really have a "friendship"? I think not.
What makes YOU a good friend? I'm loyal and trustworthy. I LOVE to have a good time...and I have no shame in sacrificing my own dignity to make that happen. If we're friends once, we're friends for life.
Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life? Yes? Tell us about the meet up. No? Who would you love to meet? So, yes. I've met several blogging/online friends. The first person I ever met from the blogging world was Melissa. She used to be a regular blogger on a blog called The Crazy Daisy. You can read about my trip to Denver to surprise her for her birthday HERE. I've also met Julia from Brainella. We met up at the Starbucks in Owasso while she was here with her family visiting family. We talked non-stop and had a great time! Of course, I've met all of The RHOK ladies, who I met through blogging and a few of them ended up coming to my first Twilight premiere party I threw for New Moon. The rest is history. Plus, I've met a lot of bloggers through our RHOK Outs. Meeting bloggers is a favorite pastime! I can't wait for next month when I get to hang out with Impulsive, Shawn, Becca, Vivienne, and Jen for a couple of days in Austin!! It's going to be epic!
Who is your best friend? Tell us about them. I kinda hate this question. I don't like putting my friends in categories, per say. However, I'll answer to the best of my ability.

First, there is Jordana. She is one of my oldest friends. We've shared a million and one experiences together...the good, the bad, and the ugly. We've known each other since grade school, but we've been best friends since I was in the 9th grade. We went our separate ways at college...she attended OSU and I attended OU. You would think that would have been a deal breaker, but we managed to stay tight although we attended rivaling universities. We both married Michaels. She's always been there for me...maid of honors at each others weddings, births of our children, funerals, etc...and although we don't see each other in person as much as we would like, I know she would be there for me, no matter what...and she knows the same is true for her.

Then, there is Trisha. We met through blogging...and we've never met in person. BUT she's my person. She is who I tell my deepest darkest secrets to...like how much I weigh, and the dream I had last night involving Rob Pattinson and a volvo. We talk on the phone occasionally, but we keep up with each other's daily lives through text. We like share the same soul. She's a kindred spirit. I swear most of our text start out with one of us saying something and the other one saying "ME TOO"! The top of my bucket list has Trisha's name on it...we must meet in person ASAP.

I can't leave my cousins out of this list of BFFs. My cousin Lindsay has been in my life since the day she was born. We've always had a special bond and it reaches across the miles, as she moved away and left me a few years ago. We share everything and we count down the days until we'll see each other again.

The same goes for my cousin Kristen. She's my girl. We share a love of shopping, Coach, and Starbucks. She even indulges my Twilight addiction and went to The Twilight Convention with me last year. She's getting married this September and I'm so looking forward to witnessing this next phase of her life.

And there is Alison. My long lost cousin...who we didn't even know each other existed until she moved to Oklahoma from Arizona about 5 years ago. It was kismet. We were meant to be together. We share an undying love for all things Twilight and Rob Pattinson. She helped me plan my last premiere party...my partner-in-crime. She is my sushi-lovin-twilight-watchin-movie-going-wine-drinkin friend. She left me and went back to Phoenix, but we are still close and miss each other like crazy. Can't wait until she's here in November for Breaking Dawn!!

And of course, there are my 3HOs3...Impulsive Addict (Skillz) and Mona (X-Rated). I love these girls like Charlie Sheen loves crack and whores. We have the best time together at our monthly GNOs. I've known IA for about my whole life. We go way back to grade school, but we've just recently reconnected and made it a point to hang out. Mona and I have been friends since the 6th grade when she moved to Dub Town. She was in my wedding and we've remained close friends through the years.

And of course there are all of you guys...I love my BBFs! What would I do without you all?!

In Your Neck Of The Woods: JK's Hood

So, what's happenin' in my neck of the woods?? Mrs. Priss at The RHOK wants to know.

For this week's installment of IYNOTW, I decided to take you on a little picture tour of Dub Town. That's what all the locals call the quaint (I use that term lightly) town I live in.

We have 3 stop lights...I knooooow, it's a metropolis.

If you ever visit, I can guarantee that you'll wait on a train...like 99.9% guarantee.

For the tastiest char-grilled hamburgers in at least 100 miles, you MUST eat at Son's! (ignore the bird poo on my window...according to Michael, I "over use" windshield wiper fluid, sooooo, I'm always out.)

When you reach the highway, it's over...yep that's all she wrote.

After that, nothing but wide open space...for the next 30 miles...then you reach T-Town...which we pretend like that's a "big city", but friends from REAL big cities tell me that it's not.

I'll just keep pretending.

Ignorance is bliss.

Now, try not to be jealous. And don't everyone flock to NE Oklahoma. We kinda like it a little less populated.

Friday Confessional 4.08

It's that time again...time to spill your guts, wipe the slate, come clean...it's FRIDAY CONFESSIONAL with the one and only Mamarazzi!

I don't have much to confess really. I've been relatively "good"...well, as good as JennyKate can be. I have my own standards, ya know.

This week was a culmination of potential confessions...like they ALMOST happened. It went a little something like this...

I didn't eat any cheeseburgers...although I wanted to.
I only had Starbucks one time...although I wanted to go at LEAST once a day.
I didn't lie...except for a few white ones, but they don't count.
I didn't slap this little kid on Isaiah's Field Trip yesterday...although he deserved it.
I wanted to tell them that I'm not Mrs. Altman. That's my mother-in-law. But I realize they're learning to be respectful...and I respect that...so I didn't.
I didn't steal anything...except for that pen from the bank, but IA assured me that they were there for the taking.

So, I guess I'm saving up all my bad(ass)ness for now. I'll be sure to let you guys know when I decide to cash in on it.

Things I've Learned Whilst Building On And Moving Over

As we've went through the process of finishing up the add-on and moving our ~~junk~~ things over, I've learned some things.

We never need to buy a DS stylus again. We officially have 17 of them...big, little, medium sized. I counted.
I start off big and bad, "We're getting rid of ALL "baby" toys/puzzles/books/etc." Then, I get all sappy and sentimental.
I'm still a sucker for wooden puzzles. Apparently, I was addicted to buying them when Isaiah was little. Now, I can't bare to part with them...even if I'm the only one who ever plays with them again.
2 1/2 people and one big fat black lab living in 1176 square feet for 8 years acquire LOTS of junk. You think it would be the opposite. In my defense, I'm a purger...usually. Except when it comes to wooden puzzles and baby stuff...oh, and books...I can't stand to part with books.
If I have one Twilight/Rob Pattinson related magazine, I have 200. No lie.
I don't know how we fit this much ~~junk~~ stuff in that small of a space. Perhaps we should be in the Guinness Book of World Records or something.
Going from 6 feet of cabinet space to 36 feet of cabinet space in my kitchen alone is LIFE CHANGING.
Going from my "laundry room" being in my kitchen to having my very own LAUNDRY ROOM is like winning the lottery. It's amazing.

Keep in mind that it's not finished. I still have to decorate, rearrange, organize and such; but it's progress! We're still working on the old part of the house, more pics of that soon.

Favorite Things Swap Revealed!

I'm not sure how I got so lucky. There's no way I deserved it. You all know I can be bad. So, it's funny to me that I got matched up with the Queen of Swapping, Miss Mamarazzi herself! How did that happen??!!

Well, let me tell you, she knows how to spoil a girl.

What is even crazier is that we have SO many favorite things in common! Every time I opened another gift...and there were SO many...I was like "SHUT UP...that's my favorite TOO!"

I was in need of some sunshine yesterday until THIS showed up on my desk...

Funny how that works out.

Her wrapping was so CUTE and so "Mama"! Adorable polka dots...and brown paper packages tied up with "string". :)

Here's what she sent me:

Spitz. She said they are her favorite summer tanning snacker! I think Micahel will confiscate them to munch on while he's watching the Cubbies.
Orbit Sweet Mint. Holla! It's my fav too, Mama! You just saved me from buying a new pack!
Dial NutriSkin. She said that it makes your skin soft and smells SO good. Can't wait to try it!
Little boxes of cereal. Yum and cute! I love small packages. She said they're her fav late night snack.
Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Yep, that's my method of "ironing" too! I despise ironing, so this is the trick for me! Thanks for the little bottle. I stuck it in my bag that I take to work with me. You know just in case I forget to "iron" before heading out the door!
McCormick Salad Toppings. SHUT UP! Mama, this is my absolute FAV thing to put on my salad too! So so good.
Warm Delights Minis. 150 calories of molten chocolate cake goodness. I'll definitely be indulging in one of these soon. She said I didn't have to share, so I don't plan on it.
CUTE pink pedi set w/ pink polish, of course! Her favorite way to keep her toes looking cute and PINKTASTIC! I knew there would HAVE to be something pink in my package...I mean, it's Mama's favorite things we're talking about here!
Beauty Rush lipgloss from Victoria's Secret. LOVE! I needed some new lip gloss. This went straight to my purse. I'm wearing it now!
Cadbury Mini Eggs. She confessed that she ate one of the bags she bought and for that I would like to say "THANK YOU", because you saved me from eating them both! Look at it as your good deed for the week.
A new mini journal/notebook. Thanks, Mama. How did you know I was needing one?! I'm glad it's your favorite way to keep track of your thoughts. It's already getting put to good use!
Her Favorite Playlist. I'm currently listening right this moment. It's good stuff...Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat...so mellow and happy. Thank you, Mama!
Rice Krispie Treat...extra large! They're Mama's favorite road trip snack. Maybe I should save it for Austin. I'll share with Impulsive.
Fun card games. Go Fish, War, Old Maid. She said it's her FAV way to spend time with her family.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. My fav too, Mama! They are magic. I have a little boy who is fond of art and they've saved my walls more than once.

Can you believe that isn't all?! I know. It's ridiculous. She also spoiled Isaiah. I thought I had a cute video of him, but turns out I forgot to push record. I'm such a retard.

She sent him a $25 to Game Stop, Legos, silly putty, and some Baskin Robbins gift certificates...for a Mom/Isaiah date! He LOVED that and was over-the-moon-happy about it all.

Mama, thanks again!

The Moment You Realize You're Not Like Everyone Else

Yep. I had one of those moments last week. A moment where I realized I was not like everyone else. I mean, I've always known that I'm weird. Michael reminds me on a regular basis. But this moment was different.

I'll play it out for you.
Bare with me, if it gets lengthy.

I was standing in the hallway of Isaiah's school last Thursday. There were about 5 or 6 other parents standing around with me. We were waiting to go with the kids on a walking field trip downtown. As we stand there, waiting for them to get ready, we begin some casual conversation. Mind you, we were in mixed company...a few dads and a few moms. So, the initial conversation was that of weather, news, and current events.

The conversation started to dwindle and I immediately went for my phone.

I wasn't really interested in conversation anyway. I was more interested in my smut book I had been reading and my thoughts were really on that...what were the characters doing while I was away...what was going to happen next...etc.

So, I began reading and one of the dads made the comment that in 50 years we would all be old and hunched over from all the years we spent looking down at our iPhones. I said "yeah, it'll be a new condition called iPhoneitis." We all laughed a little. I then said that I'm always on my phone, but recently started reading books on there and it was worse.

Out of no where, one of the moms mentioned Twilight and how she liked it. My heart immediately started pounding harder, wondering if she knew that I was a Twihard. Was she directing that at me? She went on to say that she never heard anyone talking about it anymore...and I smirked, but inside I was dying...WHAT?! No one talks about it anymore??? She obviously does NOT live in my world. I wanted to say something, but WHAT? What do you say? "Hello, I'm Jenny and I'm a Twihard...I have the tattoo to prove it." I'm the girl who has the crazy Twilight blog and I throw parties for premiers and make trips to see Twi-stars. She obviously did not know who she was talking to.

So, I kept my mouth shut and merely just nodded my head in slight agreement with her. But she didn't leave it alone. She went on to say that when she first started reading the books, she couldn't put them down...yada yada yada. She then asked me if I had read the books, to which I smirked again and felt an immediate rush of blood to my cheeks. I knew I was blushing. WHY was I blushing? Inside, I'm telling myself "hold yourself together...you can't let them see the crazy." So, I just smiled and said that I loved Twilight and had read the books...12 times. WHAT?!?! Did I just admit to reading the books 12 times?? I wanted to kick myself for letting out that little tidbit of information. What was I thinking? I could feel the other 4 sets of eyes on me. Finally, she spoke back up and said "12 times?" She had a look of awe on her face. I was like "yep. I really love them." She was like "I guess so".

I know they walked away from there thinking crazy thoughts about me.

In that moment, I realized I am not like everyone else...in more ways than one.

Friday Confessional 4.01

I'm breaking out of my blogging hiatus to do some Friday Confessions, because Lord knows I've got 'em...AND I need to wish Mamarazzi the happiest FOXXY 40th EVER!!! So, I confess...

I'm sorry I deserted you guys this week. I've been wrapped up in a *achem* book...of sorts. Ok, smut. I've been reading smut. It was kinda like "bye bye Blogger...and Facebook...and Twitter" and "hello Kindle...and iBook...and PC". I've been reading since Sunday and it was totally owning me. Plus, there's work and a million other things that I've had going on. So, sorry. I swear on everything Twilight that I'll be back to my regular ol' blogging self next week.
I want just one day where I don't have to be ANYWHERE...no work, no obligations, no one expecting me to be somewhere. A day of nothingness. OR a day on a sandy beach with a cute boy named "Edward" bringing me fruity adult beverages w/ little umbrellas. Whichever.
I don't really like to accept money from my friends for things...I don't ever really feel like they own me for anything. If I pay for something, it's because I want to. HOWEVER, I do like to receive checks from Impulsive Addict. She always writes on the memo line "pimping". I feel like it gives me street cred. I've contemplated asking her to write me monthly checks.
I know far too much about being a gangsta...all from the rap music I listen to, which is totally opposite of me. I mean, I'm pretty sure that if any Joe Blow on the street walked by me, he wouldn't say "Man, that girl is totally gangsta." I'm pretty sure I don't fit the part. However, I know that if you gotta blue flag hangin' out yo back side and it's on the left side, you're a crypt. Snoop Dogg taught me that.
Maybe when I grow up I can be a fly girl? Remember JLo being a fly girl on In Living Color.
I also confess that going out with my 3HOs3 last Friday night was a blast. Let me give you all a word of advice. Get yourself some smokin' hott friends (w/ nice assests) because they come with benefits...like free drinks. However, be prepared to realize that you don't got it...I mean "it". Because guys will cat call them as you make a run through a bar. You'll learn interesting pick up lines like "it's gettin' dangerous up in here" and "why you leaving so quick, there's plenty of room over here" and "hey there, bright eyes"...I was just waiting on a lame azz "God stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes" to follow. I think we just nearly escaped that one. By the end of the night, you'll take a big gulp of reality and know that those pick-up lines were not directed at you and you're never going to get cat called again and no one is probably ever going to buy you a drink...unless you're with your smokin' hott friends. BUT you'll get LOTS of laughs and you'll almost pee your pants...and you'll have the best girls night. So, it's worth it.

What Was I Thinking?

Last Friday night, I put on a lock-in at our church. It was something fun for our kiddos on their last night of Spring Break.

We rented an inflatable obstacle course. (fun for lil' and BIG kids!)

We had a visit from Buzzington!

The kids LOVED him and hugged him and fed him his bottle. It was sweet. A definite highlight!

I decided to go with a theme and titled it Big Top Lock-In...and, of course, had decorations to match...

and goody boxes.

I just can't help myself.

20+ kids ranging in age from 6-12. 13 hours. All after a full days work and month's worth of little sleep due to working on the house (house update coming later this week. promise.).

What WAS I thinking?

I must have been outta my mind. It was enough to drive a person to drinking.

Theoretically, but of course we were at church...just scratch that.

Actually, it was fun.

We stayed up ALL night, seriously...ALL NIGHT...I had 3 girls who made it their goal in life (accompanied by a 5 dollar bet from a few of the boys...yeah, first drinking and now gambling).

They almost made it. Just minutes from success. These were taken at 7:05, a mere 55 minutes before the lock-in was over. However, they still beat the boys, who fell asleep at 5:00. They were absolutely giddy when they peeped into the "quiet room" and found the boys snoring.

I played Candy Land about 17 times. No lie. I'm pretty much a professional now.

I used to kiss boys at lock-ins.

Maybe that's why I made sure there was an adult in EVERY room at all times. I'm paranoid. No kissing at church on my watch!

Look at these little sleeping angels.

Some of them asked me when we could have another one and I said "next year". They started whining and complaining that we should have one EVERY week. Psh. Yeah, right.

The best part? Yummy hot donuts in the morning...

yep, sugared 'em up and sent 'em home!

That's how I roll.

I think at some point in every bloggers life, they evaluate themselves as bloggers and try to see where their at, where they want to go, and how they can be better. (Yesterday's post was about evaluating readership.)

So, I've been there lately. Wondering what's my niche? What am I good at? What do I want my blog to be? How am I going to get it there?

I need to know a few things...which requires crowd participation.

1. What is your favorite thing about my blog?
2. What is the MOST annoying thing about my blog? (go ahead be honest. i put my thick skin on this morning and I'm wearing my big girl panties.)
3. Do you think I post too many pics and/or videos, just enough, or you'd like to see more?
4. Does it drive you crazy when I use large or larger text? What is easier to read? How about colored text? I had someone tell me before that red text is unappealing and hard to read. Since, it's my favorite color, it creeps into my blog posts often. So, I really want to know how everyone feels about it.

Friday Confessional

~~I think my body is in shock from not having anything fried this week. It's just not used to this level of healthy-ness.~~ I confess that I wrote that last week, before I went and screwed it up. I had good intentions.
I confess that I want to start a photo meme, but I don't think anyone would play along...and someone would probably tell me that I'm copying someone. Plus, every good name I come up with for it has already been used. Apparently, I'm not very original.
I confess that I HATE that we now have to add the area code to our phone calls. I've had to reprogram every number in my phone...and I have to redial EVERY call I make! SO. ANNOYING. Do you have to do that where you live?
I confess that I remember when all we had to dial was 5 digits to make a local call. I sound OLD.
I confess that I can NOT believe that is all I have to confess. Seems as though I've been on my best behavior.
I'll try to correct that before next Friday.

Shabby Apple Giveaway

Last week, I got an email from the ladies at Shabby Apple and I was SO. EXCITED.
I have ventured over to their site a few times...browsing, day dreaming, "window shopping". I love their dresses. They are so vintage, but modern...and sassy. I have my eye on several styles.

They are introducing a new line titled Roamin' Holiday.

They asked me to write about my favorite Italian painting. I LOVE art. I was one of the geeky people in high school that took classes like Humanities and Art Appreciation...and went to Operas and art exhibits. So, this is right up my alley. I also love the Renaissance...which means rebirth...it just sounds so fresh and new. There were some beautiful pieces that came out of that period. Michelangelo, a known sculptor, was commissioned by Pope Julius II to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

From that commission, came this gorgeous piece of art. No easy feat. It took him 4 years. I can't imagine how difficult and consuming that must have been. This portion of the ceiling is referred to as the Creation of Adam. It's been used in stationary, cards, books, publications, and television shows. It highly influences pop culture. Aside from all of that, I just think it's beautiful.

Exact conversation:

Isaiah: *whispering as only a seven year old can whisper* "HEY, MOM. That was Snoop Dogg, wasn't it?! MOM, wasn't that Snoop Dogg?"

Me: *whispering like normal people should whisper* "yeah, that was Snoop Dogg. Now, be quiet and watch the rest of the movie."

Isaiah: *"whispering" to his cousin 2 seats down* "HEY, DID YOU SEE SNOOP DOGG?"

Another exact conversation:

Me: You wanna go see the Justin Bieber movie with me and the girls?

Isaiah: Yeah, sure. I love Justin Beaver.

Me: It's Justin BEE-BER.

Isaiah: Yeah, that's what I said...Justin Beaver.

Some Thoughts On Dieting And Getting Skinny

I've been thinking about assigning a food to my exercises...

This Zumba session is for those fries I'm having later.

These two miles are for that Venti Iced Mocha I'm drinking tomorrow.

These set-ups are for the three slices of pizza I had last Friday.

Maybe if I use that strategy the exercising will seem worth it...like I'm actually getting something for my efforts?! Well, you know besides the normal benefits of exercising.

Have you watched Zombieland? It's hilarious. I also learned a valuable tip. Cardio is rule #1 in surviving a Zombie attack.

They eat the fatties first. Just one more reason to get skinny.

I wish I was "naturally skinny". I want to be one of those girls who HAS to eat a cheeseburger to put on a few pounds.

One last little thought bubble that's in my head - I think if they're going to mess around with genes...altering them and such, they need to focus their efforts in that direction...how to clone the "skinny gene"...and transfer it into a fat girl's body.

Now, that is something that I could support. I'd even make t-shirts.

Friday Confessional and CSN Giveaway Winner

Areeeeee yoooooooooooou ready for some Friday Confessions??? (said in my best WWF commentator voice)

I confess that I have a skinny mirror. I look at myself in it everyday before leaving the house. It gives me the boost of confidence I need to get out the door. Without it, I may never leave the house.

I confess that I sneezed banana nut muffin all over the place in the break room yesterday morning. I could feel the sneeze coming and had just taken a large bite of muffin. I couldn't hold it in. I might have choked to death.

I confess that laundry is taking over my house. The clean piles REFUSE to put themselves away and the dirty piles ARE NOT cleaning themselves.

I confess that while walking out of Applebee's a dryer sheet fell out of my jeans. I just kept walking. At least it wasn't a pair of bikini panties. Happened to my aunt one time was at the chiropractor's office. True story. When the receptionist picked them up with her pencil and asked to the waiting room "who do THESE belong to??" My aunt just sat there and looked at everyone else. I think there were a couple of guys in there waiting with her...they HAD to have known they were hers. Hilarious!

Friday Confessional - 03.04

Like every Friday, I'm joining in with, the woman who is about to make 40 FOXXY, Mamarazzi @ Dandelion Wishes, for Friday Confessional.

Let the confessions commence.

I confess that Pizza Hut, Subway, Arby's, and Taco Bell have cooked our dinners the past couple of weeks. We've almost exhausted our small town selections. So tonight, it's McDonald's or Sonic.

Brown bag special anyone? I'm cooking.

I've confessed before that I often take notes of things that could be on my Friday Confessionals. This is all I had for the week...

So, I confess that I can NOT be trusted to be left alone in a doctor's office. I will steal something...a tongue depressor, some band-aids, cotton swabs...something. It's my way of combating boredom. It's like a special form of kleptomania.

I confess that I've had TWO opportunities to get on peopleofwalmart.com this week.

1st offense - I wore these on my Saturday shopping trip.

They're only like 3 inches too big on the heel. I had been working in the house and wearing Michael's sandals around. Then, I decided to make a quick trip to Wal-Mart and as I stepped out of the car, I realized I had never changed into my own shoes.

2nd offense - I wore blue panties under a light colored dress. Last night, when I walked in the door, Michael said "you did NOT wear that all day". To which I replied, "um, yeah, I did...since when are you the fashion police". To which he said, "you're so gonna end up on the peopleofwalmart.com and I'm gonna laugh". Don't you love his support?? Sad thing is that this wasn't the first time...AND I went to Panera Bread, Starbucks, AND Hobby Lobby like that.

Michael said he's just gonna call me "Blue". Gosh, I love that man.

Look for me on the "new pictures" tab...I'm waiting for my 15 minutes of fame.

I confess that I am back on the diet bandwagon and I've been guilted into feeling the need to go to the gym (*achem* thanks, Impulsive). Soooooo. I guess I'm going to start exercising. I can't promise that I'm hitting the gym or anything like that...that's too much committment, but I do promise that I'll try to do something that burns calories at least 3 times a week.

If Michael reads that, he'll totally be thinking that he's gonna get lucky.

Anything you need to confess?? It's better to get a clean conscience going into the weekend. So, confess already, but make it juicy...even if you have to lie...oh, wait, then you'd need to confess that. More confessions the better, I always say!

The Things Isaiah Says - Part 1

We've all discussed how fast time FLIES by and how we would like a pause button...or a rewind.

So, for posterity sake, I'm going to start posting a semi-regular post of things that Isaiah says. That way one of these days when I'm old and senile, I can come to "The Internets" and read about the things that my mind can no longer remember...perhaps even print them off one day and put them together in a little book or something.

There won't be any rhyme or reason. Just random everyday sayings and happenings.

If you are friends with me on "The Facebook", you might have read these already, but just humor me. Mkay?.

After a long day
Me: Isaiah, why don't you make us some dinner.
Isaiah: Mom, I can't. I'm not supposed to use the stove.
Me: Well, it's ok just this once. Maybe you can whip us up some grilled cheeses.
Isaiah: MOM. I don't know how. I'm just a kid.
Me: You've seen me do it enough. I think you can manage.
Isaiah: I'm not a cook. I'm an artist.

Do not call DHS or CPS. We do not allow our 7 year old to cook on the stove (unattended). I was being facetious.

Valentine's Day
Meemo (my mom): Isaiah you should open your Valentine's Day card.
Isaiah: Why don't you read it for me.
Meemo: I'm pretty sure you can read it yourself.
Isaiah: Meemo, I'm not a reader. I'm an artist.

Clearly. He's an artist.

At El Chico's - while ordering our meals...with the waitress at the table
Isaiah: (takes a large drink of Sprite) BUUUUURRRRRPPPPP.
Me: (horrified) WHAT do you say??
Isaiah: Excuuuuuuuseeeee me. Good thing it came out that end and not the other.

No matter what his dad says, I did NOT teach him that.

And So She Vlogs

The lovely and talented Shawn from Seriously and Mamarazzi from Dandelion Wishes are hosting a new vlogging link up.

I was actually really excited about it when they first mentioned it. THEN I realized how annoying my voice is, how I hate my facial expressions, the fact that I need to lose 100 pounds (I already knew that, but vlogging drove it home), and I'm not that good at vlogging.

I almost backed out.

This is horrible.

It's the worst kind of peer pressure.

I'm so weak.

I have succumbed.

So, here's my vlog(s).

(my iPhone hates me and won't let me download a video longer than 2 minutes so bare with me)

If you need to, you can treat me like a bad American Idol contestant and just look away...or cover your face with a pillow. That's what I would do.

McLinky Monday - Crock Pot Recipes

It's McLinky Monday...and I'm late to the party.

Better late than never, right? That should probably be my next tattoo...seems to be my life motto right now.

Mrs. Priss wants us to share our favorite crock pot recipes. This is pretty easy for me, because I LOVE my crock pot. Yes, I do. I l-o-v-e it.

I actually did a little semi-vlog for you while I was putting my beans on this morning, but it will NOT load. My iPhone hates me today.

So, here's a recap:

1 pound beans
2 cartons beef stock
1 pinto bean seasoning packet (or your own seasonings)
1 cup diced ham
2 T sugar...to taste (Granny's secret ingredient)
additional seasonings of your choice (i.e. pepper, salt, etc.)

Put beans, stock/broth, and seasonings in crock pot for 6-8 hours. 30 minutes before serving add in your ham and sugar. In the meantime, throw together some cornbread or ham sandwiches. And that's dinner! Oh, and we have to have some sliced onion. I know someone who is just gonna looooove that. ;)

Happy List - 02.26

This week, the things that make me most happy are house related.

We are finally to a stage of the building process that I can help with. I'm now just DAYS away from getting to move our things over, organizing, starting to decorate, buying a few new pieces of furniture...#icannotwait

It makes me happy. Decorating and organizing make me happy.
Last Thursday, Michael and my uncle started pouring our concrete counter tops. LOVE them.

They make me happy. Is that silly?
Also, you see this little cardinal?

See him?

Well, I love birds...especially red birds. I would love nothing more than to get a beautiful, vivid shot of this lovely cardinal that lives in the tree outside of my Granny's kitchen window...but he will not let me.

I know it's a "he" because HE is being so difficult and stubborn.

The day I get my shot will make me very happy...maybe this weekend?

Lastly, I wish I were having a fancy Oscar party tomorrow night. I would make everyone wear gold and we would fill out ballots and give out our own Oscars. It would be great. sigh. That would make me happy...but I'm not.
However, I am happy that my chances of seeing this guy

It is that time again.

Time to purge sins and cleanse the soul...and link up with Mamarazzi's Friday Confessional.

I confess that I bought a boyfriend for Flat Mama and Flat Mimi...

and then I left him in Impulsive's purse after a wild and crazy GNO.

So, she left him in the mailbox for me the next day.

Do you have Pocket Jacob's just randomly show up in your mailbox?

I didn't think so.

I confess that we took Flat Shawn out and showed her a good time.

She's such a lush.

(this pic cracks me up...we were at Fox and Hound Pub/Grille...she's the Fox and he's the Hound...get it?! I kill myself.)

She also took Flat Mimi and Flat Mama's boyfriend for a spin.

I confess that our little GNO trifecta can NOT take self-portraits worth a hoot.

Thanks to some random drunk girls in the parking lot, we finally got a semi-good pic.

I'm finding some ugly friends. STAT.

I confess that I am so awkward/weird...especially on elevators. I dont' know what it is, but I have this insatiable desire to say something. I can't just stand their quietly. It drives me crazy. I always end up saying something weird. Like this morning, I accidentally pushed floor 3 and no one was getting off on 3. So, I say "oh, I guess our imaginary friend is getting off on 3". Then, when the doors open, I say "have a nice day"!...to the imaginary friend, of course.
*insert weird looks from fellow elevator riders*

Exposing The Truth (+Giveaway Winner)

Remember when I said this..."I'm just telling y'all right now. I'm a horrible liar. Ask Impulsive...or my husband. They'll tell you. I suck at lying. So, I'm going to give this my best shot."

Yeah, well. Funny thing. I sorta forgot to remove a lie, so there's 2. Apparently my "best shot" was not that great.

So, there are 2 lies and 4 truths...sorta.

Here's the dealio...

I'm head-over-heels for a boy whose name rhymes with Schmob Schmattinson. My husband knows all about it and he's OK with it. Tru dat. Now, I use the work "OK" loosely. Michael basically tolerates my crazy.
I LOVE tomatoes. I could eat them everyday. I especially love them when they've been picked right off the vine. I just slice them up, put a little salt on them, and dig in! LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE. I HATE tomatoes. I love everything a tomato makes (i.e. salsa, ketchup, marinara sauce, bruschetta, etc.). I just hate raw tomatoes. There like in a larvae state. It's disgusting.
My favorite music in this whole wide world is rap...preferably rap from the 80's and 90's. It's my jam. True. I love rap. It makes me wanna dance.
I'm an only child. True. Technically speaking. I am my mother's only child. I was raised an only child. However, I do have 3 half-siblings and 2 step-siblings.
I refuse to spend big money on purses, shoes, etc. I think it is a total waste of money. Yeah, pretty much a lie. I LOVE Coach purses...and shoes, and perfume, and scarves, and hats, and luggage...I love it all.
One time, in Sunday School, to my mother's mortification, I said the word "bastard". True. I did that.

Take a little side trip with me...

I was about 5 years old. It was summertime and I had spent the majority of the weekend fishing on the river with my grandpa. When we were fishing, my Grandpa would reach his hand down into the minnow bucket and he would say "come 'er you little bastard". To my 5 year old mind, this just made sense. We fished with "little bastards".

So, This particular Sunday morning, my teacher was asking the class what they had been doing all summer. When she got to me and I answered "fishing", she proceeded to ask for details. Where had we been fishing? Did I catch any fish? What had we been fishing with (bait, that sort of thing)? To which I answered "little bastards". To which the class of 5 years olds started asking "what's little bastards??? Mrs. Sandy, what's little bastards???" I'm sure she regrets asking me for details to this day.

...and that's the truth.

This Oklahoma weather has been giving me whiplash...cold, hot, cold, hot, ridiculously windy...which ultimately leads to chapped lips, which I hate. So, this makes me happy.

Friday Confessionals - 2.18

I confess...that I have been in a pissy mood this week.

This is me, JennyKate, making a public apology to anyone I was hateful, crabby, bitchy, or mean to this week.

I solemnly swear to be back to my chipper self. STAT.

I confess...that Impulsive tells me everyday that she is going to the gym and everyday I say things like "that's great" or "you're so good" or "I'm so proud of you".

Note to self: Hello!! That's what skinny people get to say. Um, reality check, JK. You're not the skinny person in this relationship...get your fat azz to the gym!

I would also like to confess (profess, but these are confessionals, not professionals...whatever that is) my love for HeyTell. It's the best app evah. If you have an iPhone and don't have it, get it. All the cool kids are doing it. It's kind of like you're talking on a walkie talkie or CB radio on your iPhone.

"Two, four, niner, five, six, seven"..."I can't hear you, you're trailing off and did I catch a niner in there? Were you calling from a walkie-talkie?" (Who can tell me what movie this quote is from...without Googling it?)

I've been watching episodes of Dukes of Hazzard so that I can perfect my CB radio lingo...like 10-4, over, roger that, do you have your ears on, do ya read me, over and out, etc. Impulsive and I even have our own handles. I'm Goldie Locks and she's Black Beauty. We're so cool.

I don't know if you guys know this, but CB lingo was like the beginning of abbreviated speech/text messaging. They say things like "O.L." – Wife ("Old Lady") and "O.M." – Husband ("Old Man"). They've been using this stuff for years! Those truckers were ahead of their time!

This isn't a confession really, just kinda funny...

Y'all heard about all the people who got sick after a party at the Playboy mansion, right? There were like 170 people who were diagnosed with Legionnaires Disease.

I know, I know.

I thought it would be herpes or VD too, but nope.

So, yesterday morning, my aunt was just recapping the Playboy news story to me in the car on the way to work...and then she proceeds to tell me that she's pretty sure that's what she had last week.

oh, realllllly??

My family is whack sometimes yo.
